I took these out on one pitch at Ouray Ice Park and tore the soft shell material from the rubber rand on the inside of one boot and cut the soft shell material in one small spot near the toe on the other boot. I walked through a river and my feet didn’t get wet but this isn’t the kind of durability I would expect from a $700 mountaineering boot where contact with crampons isn’t unusual. Also, based on their measurements and chart size 45 is equivalent to a US 11 but also a mondo equivalent of 29.5. I would normally wear 11.5 US but 29.5 mondo is basically 11.5 and these were a touch tight on my right foot which is slightly wider than my left. If you have a wide foot this boot may not work out. Maybe the 11.5 would have worked but they didn’t have that size so I couldn’t order it and I think my heels would have been slipping. We’ll see how it goes with warranty…
