Great boot
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
Of course it will all depend on the particular size/shape of your foot but this is a great supportive boot for my narrow feet. Eliminated pain in the toes that I was starting to get in my 7+ yr-old Vasques. My only quibble is I wish there were a bit more thickness around the ankles as well as a better way to tie the shoelaces, which tend to allow just a bit more wobble around the ankle than I'd prefer.

I got these a few weeks ago and love em!! I have done a few hikes with them as well as worn them around town and they are very comfy for both!!! No break in time needed!! They are true to size, I wear a 9 and ordered a 9…great fit!

Small toe box

- I returned this product before using it

I was so excited for these but I guess they aren't going to fit unless I exchange and size up. The heel and mid-foot fit fine but with my usual wool hiking sock the toe box is a crunch at my usual size. Also I am not sure I like the way the heavy heel area feels higher than the toe but that is probably because I'm used to no-drop trail runners. The overall construction appears sturdy and I will order other boots with a Vibram sole.

So far I have 90miles on them. I did a section hike of the PCT here in Washington over 6 days. The boots were a great happy medium between the trail runners I ofter see on backpackers and full boots. I prefer more than simple shoes backpacking, especially off trail. But full leather boots get heavy. These offered good support on trail, gortex was nice and traction good. All while weighing only a few ounces more than a pair of trail runners. Only issue I had was on long downhill sections the laces would tighten at the toe end and pinch my foot. I took the laces out of the last set of loops at the toe and problem solved. Still felt like I could get locked in if I wanted to. No signs of wear on the lace loops either.
