Excellent Kickers....FYI on sizing

I wanted to take the time to review these excellent knickers because the fit is a bit confusing at first. For reference, I am 6' 3.5" and the recommended size for me from the Assos website is XL. Like a previous reviewer, the first time I put them on, and even after a few rides, I thought they must be too small. The chamois just seemed like it was too far forward, and wasn't covering my saddle area and did not reach to my sit bones. What I found is that you need to take a second to pull the lycra up onto your thigh, and then the fit is great, with the lycra extending just over the knee and the chamois in the right place. So, the moral of the story is....pull up your knickers kids.

Good product . . . except for sizing
- Familiarity:
- I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

- L

As a senior 6-0 ft 180# cyclist, I found the fit on these bibs in a size L a bit strange. I've worn many size L high-end cycling bibs over the years, some fitting better than others. This Assos Mille pair was noticeably short waisted on this old bod, but the real deal breaker was the chamois placement. The GT C2 seat pad is of excellent quality with a well-thought design. The problem is in the placement. The "floating" sides allow plenty of codpiece comfort and thigh protection, but the rear portion comes up short. I found that my sit bones rode slightly on & off the end of the pad. I'll try a larger size before I give up on these otherwise excellent quality knickers.

Another top notch item from Assos

- medium

This is my 3rd piece from Assos (first set of bibs) and I can't see myself buying other brands any longer. The quality is astounding. My only qualm when buying was sizing. The MILLE GT Jacket ULTRAZ Winter I bought, I had to size WAY up and the Skinfoil Winter Long-Sleeve Base Layer is very form fitting and I probably could go up one size (my normal size is medium). I ended up going with a medium. When you receive your bibs, it is very well packaged. I tried them on right away and had to struggle just a bit to get them over my thighs. I have other bibs from Specialized and Pearl Izumi and these ride a bit lower in the waist. It is more of a different feeling than anything. I love the straps. They are wide and very comfortable. The padding is very thick and comfortable. I did contemplate returning them for a large given the struggle to pull over my thighs. However, I decided to try them out on a ride or two to see if anything changed. I will say after a few rides, these are easier to pull on and they are so comfortable on the bike.
