Why We Like The ASSOS R Winter Knee Warmers
The ASSOS R Winter Knee Warmers provide the warmth and protection necessary to ride through the rainy, cold seasons. The RX Extreme textile, a brushed, thermoregulating warp-knit fabric with optimal breathability and water-repellency, keeps our knee area dry and warm as we ride through changing conditions. The AEPD 11 racingFit doesn’t interfere with our aerodynamic setup and the lie-flat, low-volume cuffs eliminate friction and stay in place with the microdot silicone treatment across the leg opening.

Could be better, but not bad.
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
The fabric feels a bit stiff at first—maybe a few washes and some wear will soften it up, but it's not super comfortable straight out of the box. I have a lot of Assos gear, and, honestly, these knee warmers don’t quite hit the usual quality mark I expect from the brand. The upper edges tend to fold under when putting them on, which can be a hassle to adjust. They’re definitely warm, so they’re well-suited for cold weather, but might be a bit much for milder Southern California temperatures. The fit is nice and snug, almost like compression leggings, which I do appreciate. Overall, I’m on the fence with these; they don’t quite live up to the style and comfort of my previous Assos knee warmers, which I’ve used to the end of their lifespan. I expected to be as impressed as I am with my other Assos products—bib shorts, jerseys, jackets, layers, socks—but this one leaves me feeling a bit ambivalent.
