Why We Built The Backcountry Cardiac GORE-TEX PRO Bib Pant
"These feel like real touring bibs. They're so light, but the GORE-TEX PRO membrane does its job while I'm knee-deep in backcountry pow." —Gearhead® Expert Alex
As the crème de la crème of our backcountry outerwear kits, the Backcountry Cardiac GORE-TEX PRO Bib Pants strike the ideal balance between lightweight breathability and durable coverage so that we don't overheat on the uphill or get soaked on the way back down. The GORE-TEX PRO 3-layer membrane, along with both 70D and 100D nylon, provides this balance so we can slash, catch air, and send under snowy skies to our heart's content, while zippered thigh vents help us dump excess on the ascent to go do it all over again.

Poor build quality and Not waterproof
- Familiarity:
- I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
- Size Bought:
- M
My buddy and I each have one of these goretex pro bib, the thing is, his got teared from the back after a couple season and backcountry refuse to warranty this, and mine is not waterproof at all on a pow day. For the pricetag, I would say get HH, flyflow other real brand instead.

Fell apart at the seams
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times

Pros: lightweight, decent pockets, great ventilation, and stays dry. Cons: construction quality lacks. The seam on the butt completely tore open all at once while squatting down. Touring gear needs to be beefier because if you blow out your pants in the backcountry then it becomes a survival and safety concern. These are my backup bibs, so they weren’t used too often. Also, the front fly is too small to use, so you have to unzip the side if you want to go pee.

Good for one season

I purchased a pair of "Cardiac GORE-TEX PRO Bib Pant - Men's" last year on sale. The bibs are nice and comfortable, but it seems that the material is very fragile. The stitching on the inseam came undone. The price is not justified by the poor quality and short lifespan of the material. The bibs are really only worth it if you are purchasing the pants for just one season. I have never washed these pants and really have not worn them too many times.
