Why We Like The Backcountry Cedars Merino Midweight 3/4 Baselayer Bottom
"The cropped cut is here to stay. Shorter baselayer pants are way more comfortable with my boot socks." —Gearhead® Expert Sammy
Our shred-ready Backcountry Cedars RWS Merino Midweight 3/4 Baselayer Bottom is the perfect partner for our knee-high socks and snow-sport boots. The shorter silhouette limits the amount of friction and pressure we feel while layering without limiting our warmth and comfort on-mountain. Crafted with Responsible Wool Standard-certified merino wool, these techy tights resist odor buildup, wick moisture, and regulate body temperature throughout our ski sessions.

Fits perfectly
I love this and have bought a second. It fits perfectly, true to size, is comfortable to wear all day.

Not the same as before

I have a pair of thermals from Backcountry that I bought a few seasons ago and LOVE. I hoped these would be the same, but they are much thinner (and the yellow is see-through) and don't have the same wool content as the ones I previously bought. I ultimately returned.

Don't get the printed ones
I ordered the Peach Sky Geo pattern to save a few bucks/because I was worried the lime would be see-through. Don't! It looks cheesily screen printed onto the fabric, not like the picture. It's thicker than I expected and not in a quality way. The inside of the pants are the original white. Even though it's wool it reminds me of thick Hanes cotton underwear. I have one of the lightweight Backcountry merino tops and it's really nice quality. Maybe the black and solid colors are fine, but I don't see this as a technical product, maybe just for looks. I regret being cheap because now I have to spend the money I "saved" to return these.

Comfortable, warm, breathable
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
- Size Bought:
- Medium
These are a nice fit, I like the 3/4 length to keep my under layers out of my skin boots. The material seems like a good thickness (not see through) and durable
