Why We Built The Backcountry Destination 30L Backpack
Our passion for travel and the outdoors isn't hindered by the five-day workweek. In fact, we crafted the Backcountry Destination 30L Backpack to take advantage of our precious days off between meetings and Mondays. This pack's earth-friendly recycled ripstop construction keeps our belongings covered from rough roads and wet weather, and the supportive shoulder straps and hip belt ensure comfort while we're catching cabs or racing to our terminal.
We loaded this backpack with comfort-focused and organization-oriented features to boost convenience, whether traveling by plane or train. While the massive main compartment is full of our threads, the back panel offers quick access to technology and travel essentials. The padded sleeve is large enough for a 16-inch laptop, or thanks to the integrated port, we can swap the computer for a reservoir and sip on water while urban backpacking.

Took it on the first trip last week. Comfortable, carries load well. Bought it for cruises and something for longer hikes along the beach. Think it will do just fine

Struggles to carry Nalgene silo bottles. My only complaint about this bag is the water bottle pocket. The tarp like material is great for rainy days, but does not allow a water bottle to slide in under the mesh. The mesh needs more fabric to stretch around a fatter bottle. I wish the water bottle sleeves were wide at the bottom themselves, and an actual pocket instead of just stretchy stuff. Getting it in and out is difficult. Maybe a zipper or strap, to snake it smaller or bigger as needed. Otherwise it is a great bag. My son carries his laptop, an organizer sleeve for school supplies, a 1in binder and a book in the back section. He carries a change of clothes in a cube, shoes, and lunch in the large pocket. He wishes the top pocket had a little organization in it but likes it is big enough for headphones. He would say two water bottle pockets are better than one (or a handle). The bag seems like it will hold up. The rear being deep/wide enough to carry school and separate it from his daily stuff is great. Not too many bags out there have a 50/50 split. It is always one big compartment, one laptop sleeve and one organizer panel. We really want a half and half! Half school and half life on campus situation. It would be great if that school back section had an organizer panel against the front wall with the laptop at the back and room for a binder, book, charging cables. Why are we still opening two pockets (laptop and organizer panel) to get to our work/school stuff? The front doesn’t need to be crazy with separating stuff or a shoe pocket, just one space. The use of packing cubes and lunch boxes separate things well. Nice bag, thanks for the option to have the rear compartment bigger than just the laptop and accommodate all of his school supplies, we are going to enjoy it.

Great bag, almost perfect, great price
- Familiarity:

Was looking for a single travel bag that worked for an every day work bag as well. This was the closest I found after buying several. A few tweaks would make it perfect. 1 - make back panel just laptop with side entry zipper. Move all the cable/electronic storage to a front area admin sleeve (basically another 3/4 zip access area behind the top hood pocket). 2 - add luggage passthrough for using with a roller bag, 3 - add a few internal organizer pockets to the top pocket.

Amazing Bag!!

I bought this bag for school and for travel. It is amazing. There are so many pockets, so I am able to fit everything I need in the bag, the biggest pocket fully unzips. For travel that is so useful, it is the perfect bag for a short weekend trip. On top of that all, being a student I do not have to worry about any of my materials getting wet as the material of the bag allows water to just run right off the bag! I switched from a North Face bag and although this bag is larger, it doesn't feel too big or bulky. I would highly recommend this bag for travel, school or work, it is amazing!

30L for High Schooler
- Familiarity:
- I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share
I purchased this backpack for my son heading into the new school year. I wanted a backpack that would stand the test of time and rigor of a young man in high school. So far, so good. He's loving his backpack and its various pockets.

Great storage but wide shoulder straps
- Familiarity:
- I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
I bought this bag recently for a whirlwind weekend trip overseas. It stores a lot and pockets are very convenient. The water bottle pocket was a little small but I jammed mine in and was fine. The bag fits underneath the seat in front. The only issue I had is the placement of the shoulder straps were wide for my (female) shoulders. Another reviewer mentioned the same and it’s accurate! I used the chest strap to keep them as close together as possible while still being comfortable. 2-3” narrower would make it perfect.

Great backpack for everyday use or for school. I've been using it every day on campus and its been nice not having to worry about my books or laptop getting wet when it rains. The design is well thought out for the most part but there could be some improvements. The biggest problem with the pack is the fit. The shoulder straps are super far apart. I'm tall and have broad shoulders and this thing is constantly sliding off my shoulders unless I clip the chest strap. Its not a big deal for the most part but if you're wearing a rain jacket or a puffy this thing will not stay in place.

Compartmentalization and Access

I picked this pack up two months ago and have since used it for biking to the cafe office, flying to meet with the grandparents, and camping storage. Two things I think this pack really excels at- compartmentalization and access. There are two main compartments- the main volume and then the back panel volume. Both volumes have very ample storage space that allows you to take ownership of how you can organize your carry items. The full clam shell style opening for these two volumes allows you to immediately and efficiently access or pack/unpack. The various grab handles and plush shoulder straps grant comfort and different ways to carry. The various pockets around the pack also function perfectly for smaller EDC items. All in all, it's an awesome pack that excels in its purpose- carry and access.
