Fantastic Jacket w/ Just a Few Quirks

Got this just before the 23/24 season. I generally prefer insulated jackets instead of shells so it's easier to pack up, and I was intrigued by the blew color of this jacket! Sizing is spot on, with just a tad extra room to add layers underneath or for increased mobility. I'm 5'11" and 230 lbs and the XL was perfect for me. The warmth is perfect, and the ventilation options are pretty good. There's a full length zipper to mid arm for entry/exit, and the other size has a little shorter length zipper for venting, but still vents over the pits so not too bad there. Opening the main pocket also allows some venting so while I was warm I was never overheating. The jacket is also surprisingly flexible, and so far I've had zero rips or issues, plus it's mostly waterproof (haven't had any super wet sessions but I was never wet at least). I've really only got two complaints about this otherwise perfect jacket. Like the other reviewer, I found the inner hand liners to be a bit short. When you put them on it really pulls on the stitching and it feels like it will rip. It seems to be attached just before the wrist, and the first few uses I heard audibly some stitches popping. I stopped using them after that and didn't find it to be too big of an issue. The second is that the main pouch zipper gets stuck frequently. It's not catching on fabric (though sometimes it does) but it just doesn't want to work, and it's always when trying to close the pocket instead of on open. Additionally, it could use a separate zipper on this pocket so you get access from both directions. I'm right-handed, but the zipper pulls left to open. So to open the pocket you need to use your left hand or do an awkward push with the right. It would be nice to have a second zipper that goes the other way so you have options. In any case, I would still highly recommend this jacket. Got it on sale for just over $100 and it well exceeds the quality of the price I paid!

Pretty good but not good enough.

First, I love the style and color of this jacket. It’s plenty warm with pit zips and side vents if you get warm. The downfalls are basically one giant pocket and no pockets inside the jacket. Also no powder skirt kinda sucks. The worst thing about this jacket for me though was that the hood has no way of being secured, and just flaps around when bombing down the mountain. The other negative for me personally Is that the arms felt short—so when I used the wrist gaiters, they pulled on my thumbs when I was fully extending my arms and I felt like I was going to rip them out of the sleeves. For reference I’m about 6’3” and 230 pounds and I tried the XL. Ultimately I returned the jacket.
