Why We Built The Backcountry Last Chair Stretch Insulated Pant
We wanted a pant that kept us feeling good and moving free on the hill all season long, so we built the Backcountry Last Chair Stretch Insulated Pant. The soft stretch material doesn't crinkle, dig, or restrict as we throw shapes in the park and bootpack to hidden stashes, while the inner-thigh zips let us boost the airflow when we're charging hard. From bitter cold temps to wet chop, the synthetic fill and impermeable membrane keep us cozy dry, and the adjustable waist gives us a stay-put fit through it all. Plus, we sourced recycled materials to lower our impact when constructing this perfect resort pant.

Cute pants but the buttons and the zippers are cheap. They do not hold.

I only had a long weekend to try them out on the slopes since buying but love them so far. I like the color, warmth, fit, and pockets. Hopefully they’ll hold up well.

Too long
Returned because they are ridiculously long. I’m 5’5. Too bad not available in petite or short length

Buy them!

Bought these crossing my fingers they’d fit because I had a trip coming up and needed new pants that weren’t ugly boxy and super unflattering. These were such a pleasant surprise when I got them. Not only did they look and fit great but I put them to the test immediately wearing them in 17 degree weather and with a thin base layer underneath, I was warm and comfortable. Side note I can’t emphasize enough how wonderful and helpful Backcountry’s customer service is. For this fact I’ll be a customer for life!

I ordered these in both a medium and large and needed the large. I am a true size medium per the measurement chart, and this is pretty consistent across brands. I have the matching coat and the medium fits GREAT. However, while the medium ski pants fit in the waist (slightly tight but not bad) they were *tight* across butt/upper thigh/hip. I am not pear-shaped (I'm 5'11" 155 lbs, kinda straight figure) but I strength train so have some bulk in the butt and quads, although given my height, I can't get thicker like some do (sigh)). Even though these have stretch, I could tell that when seated these would constrict and feel uncomfortable. The large is definitely big across the waist but cinch down okay, and they allow much more freedom of movement. You kinda need that for skiing! Hello! My kingdom for a pair of ski pants cut bigger in the butt/hips/thighs so you can actually move and not have to belt or cinch down. Reading reviews across many companies you see the same issue over and over. The only one to come close is Outdoor Research, IMO. As far as length for the tall ladies, mediums were slightly too short but would've been okay with boots. Larges fit better but also because they hang a bit lower due to the looser waist.

Pink is very cute and pretty warm!
I loved how cute they were and how warm they were on the slopes but after one fall my pants ripped below the knee. Not an area that experiences a lot of stretch so I was really sad my brand new ski pants aren’t in new condition anymore.

I've sold so many Last Chair pants to customers that love them that I decided to give them a try myself. I love so many of our outerwear pieces and these are definitely ones I can add to the list. They are super soft, stretchy, breathable and comfortable. They are very versatile by having medium-weight insulation that is perfect most days on the slopes. If you layer well underneath it, you can stay warm in very cold conditions, as well. The breathable fabric and thigh vents dump heat when working hard on the slopes or in warmer conditions. The 15K waterproofing kept me dry in a snowstorm when I wore them. These are on the long side for me at 5'4", so the bibs with adjustable length worked out better for me. Otherwise the fit was true to size with lots of adjustability with the velcro waist tab. I loved wearing these and recommend them.

This is the first pair of nice ski pants I’ve bought. I wear for downhill skiing. They are insulated and I have been comfy in them on cold days as well as warm days! Very soft material and easy to move in. Would highly recommend. I am petite and 5 3’ and the small was great for my waist and length wise too.

I bought these ski pants last year and wore them skiing for a month long ski stay in Breckenridge. They are so comfortable and the fit is perfect for my curvy athletic body. All of the features with the insulation and the stretch would be found on a much more expensive pair of ski pants. I am a 14/16 in ladies pants and the xl fit me beautifully. I am also 5'9" tall so the inseam is perfect! Believe me when I say that I have ordered and returned over 15 different pairs of ski pants trying to find a pair that was both comfortable and flattering on my 54 year old body. These are the ones! I want to buy another pair just to have them in my rotation for fear you will stop making these, but I am disappointed in this years' colors. I already have the light green sea foam from last year so would love a darker color (not black), but the colors from this year would make me look like a giant toddler. How about some adult colors for the mature skier? :)
