Why We Like The Copper Spur HV UL2 Tent
A favorite of ours for the backcountry, the Big Agnes Copper Spur HV UL2 2-Person 3-Season Tent has basically all the household features we're used to but weighs just over three pounds. Maybe "basically all" is exaggerating, but the Copper Spur does have two large doors and vestibules, individual media pockets with cord routing, and reflective guylines, all features that your house doesn't even have. Your house also doesn't have a PU-coated, silicone-treated fly and floor, or polyester mesh walls that keep out bugs but let you enjoy cool summer breezes and crystal-clear night skies. The Copper Spur's fully taped seams seal out water, and the two-pole hub system is easy to set up and tear down, thanks to DAC Twist Clips and quick cross-pole design that also gives you tons of headroom.

This tent is garbage

- I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
The mesh netting tore at the seam the first time I set it up. It wasn’t staked out too tightly and I was being careful. I’ve had more tents than I can remember and have been camping/backpacking for more than 35 years and this is the worst tent I’ve had. To be fair, it is roomy for one person and is easy to set up, minus the poor construction. Maybe I just got a bad one. I can’t return it to Backcountry because I bought it and didn’t get a chance to use it in the 45 day return window because I got it right before winter. Big Agnes will repair it, it takes up to 8 weeks and my brand new tent that broke on the first use will be ready to use for a second time. There’s no way I’ll risk using it again. Unless you are desperate, I’d look at something else
