Why We Like The Mad House 6 Tent
The Mad House collection consists of the biggest, all-year mountaineering tents from Big Agnes, and the Mad House 6 Tent is the smaller of the two options. Its 6-person capacity is certainly large enough for base camp dining rooms or taking refuge in a multi-day storm, and the fly provides high UV protection as well as solid waterproofing for total protection in whatever weather we're camping in. The fly is removable, and the canopy has mesh windows to stay comfy on weekend camping trips, too. There's a removable room divider that separates the tent to provide more privacy, and the vents include zippered mesh windows to let air in and keep bugs out. Big Agnes also included large 3D bin pockets for ample storage.

Amazing tent!¡
- Familiarity:
- I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
- Size Bought:
- 6 man 4 season
This tent is fabulous! Had to fight 35+mph winds when setting up the first time amd it performed very well! Masks the wind great and the many windows helped us cool it down at night! Big Agnes does not disappoint!!

Number 1 Fan Big Agnes Tents!
I have been tent camping for over 60 years, so have had a wide variety of tents from “pup tents” as a kid to my current Big Agnes tent. For the past 13 years I have had the honor of serving as a campground host in one of Michigan Upper Peninsula’s magnificent State Parks-so every summer I live in my tent for over 30 days. I require a large tent that can withstand Lake Superior winds and intense rain-often with flooding. Up until 2 years ago, I invested in a 6 person tent from a well known outdoor store-that has great customer service and quality gear. Unfortunately, i had to replace this tent every 3-4 years for a variety of reasons-ie. Rain fly tearing, zipper not working and a broken tent pole. I am diligent in maintaining and caring for all of my camping gear. When I needed to replace my tent a fourth time, researched my options…in spite of my “mature” age, I continue to be a dedicated tent camper…Ultimately, I decided to invest in a Big Agnes tent-especially after talking with an experienced young female backpacker who also camps and backpacks alone.
