Black Crows Octo: thin is in!
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
- Size Bought:
- 179
- Weight:
- 200
My last few ski buying decisions have been made after having demoed the skis I was interested in. With the Octo 179, I broke with tradition and bought these based on specs and early reviews, and I'm glad I did. These are a perfect complement to my 2020 Corvus 184 and ski so much lighter, more playful, and more maneuverable, as one would expect. But, the pleasant surprise for me, was that the Octo does not chatter at higher speeds. They feel damp enough, but not heavy, and have been stable in all conditions. I've not had them in much off piste powder at this point in the season, but I'm optimistic. For the big pow days, I'll ski the Corvus, but it's looking like the Octo will be my new daily driver and one that I will continually look forward to skiing.
