Perfect style, questionable construction

I bought this jacket with the intention of using it as an insulation layer while Backcountry splitboarding, standing at belays, and to any other endeavor where an insulation piece is needed in case weather turns sour or I need to be stationary for a while in the cold. I chose this jacket because Black Crows has is a company with awesome style and, while function is the priority, why not look dope while being functional? This puffy seemed like it would achieve both my goals of form and function. However, immediately out of the package before even trying it on, the stitching in-between the baffles was already coming severely undone in multiple locations. To the point where if they were to be snagged it would cause legitimate tears. Additionally, the embroidered logo was partly unraveled and with a slight pull would continue to do so. Down jackets are already inherently fragile by design, and I would not trust this jacket to hold up around town, let alone the backcountry or alpine conditions. Additionally, I reached out to Black Crows' warranty department & they have yet to get back to me in over a weeks time despite being thorough. Part of this is probably because they're based out of France on the other side of the world from me in Idaho. Because of the quality issues & lack of customer support, I chose to return this product. It's a piece with incredible style, but less than stellar quality control, all while commanding a price $100 USD higher than arc'teryx' Cerium down jackets. My hope is that in the future Black Crows fixes their construction quality issues and achieves bomb-proof construction on par with their incredible aesthetics.
