Best small cams
I've tried many other brands and the Z4 continues to impress. The double-lobe sizes in particular are money. Lightweight, flexible, nice range. A+

The best (in some of the range)
Best on the market between 0. 3 and 0. 75. Below 0. 3, trigger action isn't great, time to bring back 0-000 C3s.

Solid, fun little cams
No complaints here -- cams were easy to place, easy to carry. The tiny green dude inspired about as much confidence as a cam that size should. Place it thoughtfully!

Camalot z4
Z4s are my go-to cams for any small sizes, offering a great balance of flexibility and stability. The stem design minimizes walking while remaining supple enough for tricky placements, and the lobes grip well even in less-than-ideal rock. I especially appreciate the trigger feel—it’s smooth and consistent, making placements and cleaning easier.

Narrow head, double axel
Micro cams are the subject of heated discussion, but the Z4 is the clear winner in the 0. 3 size. Flexible stem and double axel with a narrow head width ticks all the boxes. When I sold my previous generation C4s and started carrying WC and DMM cams, the Z4s somehow stayed on my rack. I've fallen on a 0. 2 Z4 as the first piece off the belay with about 10' of rope in the system and it held with no signs of damage.
