Why We Like The Black Diamond Coefficient LT Hybrid Hooded Jacket
The Coefficient LT Hybrid Hoody is a lighter and stretchier version of Black Diamond's Coefficient fleece. Built for high-octane activities in colder conditions, it features a lightly insulated front panel with some Polartec grid fleece against the skin for added breathabilty and moisture-wicking to keep us drier (and therefore warmer) when we start to sweat on tough ascents up switchbacks or skin tracks. The Coefficient LT also features plenty of stretch and gusseted underarms to maintain a full range of motion when we're climbing, running, or skiing.

Perfect layer for high output,
Perfect layer for high output, cold weather activities. Wind resistant front and breathable back. Hood and high neck zip work great for down hills.

I use this for cross country skiing. Stylish lightweight but warm. Many compliments on the colours!

Versatile mid-layer
Have a couple of these and love the versatility for layering options. A base-layer by itself or mid-weight layer over lighter base layer options make it my go to for many seasonal pursuits. Breathable and super comfy. The hood is the perfect liner under a ski helmet on cold outings when the Coefficient is worn under a shell or puffy. By itself, it's a great active layer with the hood for shade or a little warmth on a chilly morning while making coffee at the campsite. Highly recommend! Get two so you have a clean one on standby!

Perfect Aerobic Hoody
This may be it. The perfect layer for high-output activities. Lots of pieces claim to be made for aerobic pursuits, but they are very sweaty. Somehow, this piece isn’t. Lightweight, comfortable, & just the right amount of warmth.

Love this mid layer!
I bought the Coefficient LT as a mid layer for alpine SAR work. I have not used it for this purpose yet but have found myself using it every morning on my mountain bike rides and it’s amazing! It keeps me warm and is really breathable at the same time. I’ve never had a garment to both things so well at the same time! My only gripe is that the material snags pretty easily so you need to be careful, I already put a small hole in mine.

Its like magic
Every time I pick this thing up I'm shocked at how light it is. Awesome piece of kit for the colder months, has been good so far this fall at 8,000 feet in Colorado. Really good as a next-to-skin base layer, or a medium layer. Fit is a little strange though: I am a M about 75-85% of the time, but this M was very tight in the mid-section (arms and waist length were perfect). Ordered the L and its much better, but the armpit area is a little loose. Might need to adjust the cut in future years. (5. 9, 160ibs). Overall, I recommend this top.

Thoughtful design in a versatile midlayer
The men's coefficient hoodie is a perfect addition to any ski or touring ensemble. The grid design makes it the perfect insulating layer, but its thin breathable design makes it perfect for a day of skinning. Simultaneously the front torso works as a windbreaker keeping your core toasty, while the breathable back prevents overheating when carrying a pack. The fit is loose enough to allow a base layer beneath, but tight enough to work as it's own base layer, and the hood is well designed to fit comfortably beneath a helmet. When you get to the top, just throw over a shell and your are ready to go. This hoodie is a must have for any A/T skier.

Love this lightweight hoody
I have been using this hoody on climbs, b/c ski trip, etc. It works well for my body type (slim and tall). It packs great and weighs nothing. One thing that I wish it had is re-enforced shoulders: I worry about wearing a pack directly on top of the hoody.

Terrible fit and not worth the price
- Familiarity:
- I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

- Small

This is a not a good jacket, period. The small fits weirdly around the armpits and is loose overall. I prefer the fit of the Patagonia R1 Air Small and Mammut Aenergy ML Small over this any day. While this jacket is intended to be a middle ground between the above two jackets, it falls short both in terms of warmth and moisture management. I would highly recommend getting the above two jackets instead of this one. Your bank account will complain in the short term but you will benefit from the versatility of the aforementioned jackets instead of this one mediocre and overpriced jacket. Returning it. I am 31, 5’9”, 150lbs and in a good athletic shape.

Cons outweigh pros
Pros: semi-light. Cons: - fabric is little itchy. Not a soft as prior Coefficient vest I own - zipper is a bit difficult to operate - has a chemical smell - mesh leaves head cold Returned it
