Credo Pant
If the rock is sharp but jeans don’t provide the mobility you need for the redpoint, the Black Diamond Credo Women’s Pant has you covered. It’s lightweight and stretchy but remarkably durable, so those stylin’ kneebars and tight squeezes don’t shred your skin, and it sports a fit that looks good at the post-crag brag session when you’re telling everyone how that 5.13 crux wasn’t actually all that cruxy.

Way too slim in the thighs for outdoors
- Familiarity:
- I returned this product before using it

I read the reviews about these pants running small so I sized up, but they’re still way too tight in the thighs! They fit well in the waist and legs otherwise, so it’s a shame. But I would get too annoyed trying to hike in these, so I’m going to end up donating them (since it was a final sale).

TL;DR They're fine for casual use, but I wouldn't recommend them for climbing or any other outdoor activity. Black Diamond is having a laugh by charging $100. Though I do climb, I actually bought these pants with wildlife/nature photography in mind. I was looking for a cotton, relaxed-fit pant with proper pockets for use in the desert during spring when temps are generally mild (lows in the 40s, highs in the 70s). I wanted a pant that'd be suitable for hiking, kneeling, and crouching--all while protecting my skin and holding their own against rocks, vegetation, etc. I thought pants designed for climbing should be perfect in this regard, but I was disappointed in the Credo. Compared to the Black Diamond Notion SP pant, which I also have, the Credo falls short in terms of both durability and fit. The Credo's fabric is undeniably thinner, and even my Notion SP pants (bought Feb 2024) are already showing signs of wear and tear--without even climbing in them. The Credo is also more restrictive than the Notion SP. While it has plenty of movement for a casual pant, there's obvious resistance trying to get a leg high. I think I'd say this even if I were 10-15 lbs lighter too. I bought them on sale for only 30-something dollars, but I still wish I could return them or get myself another pair of Notion SP pants instead.

Credo vs Notion SP (Credo Review)
- Familiarity:

I was looking for relaxed fit climbing pants and tried Credo and Notion SP (both from Black Diamond). I am returning Credo because it has the skinny straight cut and much lighter fabric which would be nice for casual strolls in a warm weather, but not durable enough for scrambling, dragging or climbing (would not trust it against rocks and branches). With the fabric about twice as thick as Credo's, yet feeling soft and comfortable to wear, Notion SP fit the bill (I am writing a review for that separately). I am about 5'6" and 123 lb, has an athletic build with large thighs/calves and a small waist. Credo size 2 fit me nicely around the hip and waist (I like that there is no excess fabric around the waist), but the legs are tight and not flattering . People with the thigh circumference less than 18" may do better (for size 2).
