Have been on 5 tours with these, and I haven't thought about them once, which is a good thing. I don't notice the suspenders because they stay in place and do their job. I don't notice my legs getting sweaty and too hot, because they don't and aren't. They aren't cold either. Good leg vents keep things moderate temperature-wise. Pockets are plentiful though I don't really use pants pockets much. I wish the cuffs were a little wider to accommodate my Lange XT3 touring boots without being tight, but even that isn't a big deal. I've worn these mostly in temps from the low teens to the low 30s with a thin base layer, so I haven't seen spring temps yet. So far so good.

Excellent for All-Mountain Skiing

These Dawn Patrol Pants are exceptional for all-mountain skiing, and are remarkably warm for how lightweight they are. I’ve used them in single digit to mid 20s (Fahrenheit), and they kept my legs warm when paired with level 1 and level 2 base layers. They are extremely flexible and comfortable, and kept me warm/dry. For reference, I am 5’9’’ and 200 pounds. The mediums are snug but not too tight.

Durable while flexible. The openable leg cuffs ( inner and outer) are very useful. 5’11’’ 175# (32/32) size medium is perfect.

I’m happy with these pants

I’m happy with these pants for many of the same reasons I am with the dawn patrol hybrids. Excellent fit, comfort, and craftsmanship.

Warmer than shell pants and she heat better than gore-Tex. Love the pockets and boot cuffs. Very flexible and suspenders are a must when having a backpack.

Fantastic ski pants!

I tired of overheating in goretex and these are ideal for my ski touring missions. I run hot and needed something more breathable. Great natural breath ability, vents and pockets. I plan to use them all season and see how they hold up to New England's varied terrain! Thanks BD!

Very nice, but...

Great materials, fit, pockets. Great weight for Colorado touring and ski mountaineering in everything but the wettest of the wet. But, where are you supposed to clip your beacon? Strangely, the Recon pants - which are more resort oriented - have a beacon clip in the pocket. Best I can do with these is girth hitch around a belt loop, which is not ideal. What are people doing with their beacon in these pants?

My go to touring pants. I toured in goretex bibs for years and it wasn’t till I gave these a whirl that I realized how much more efficient stretchy, soft shell pants are. I ended up cutting the mesh out of the vents for more airflow which I do not regret. They hold up in anything from stormy PNW mid winter tours to warm, vert heavy spring days. I would give them 5 stars if they had an inner set of thigh vents but oh well. I’m 5’7 with a 32 waist and medium's fit great.
