Replacement Tips and Baskets

I have used Black Diamond long distance Z poles for over 11k trail miles. I recently bought a pair of adjustable Leki poles. I needed a pole that would extend to be long enough for a Plex Solo tent (I use a 120cm pole). I prefer the Long Distance Z pole it's lighter and better balanced. I noticed that the Lecki pole did not have a replaceable metal tip. If the metal tip needed replacement, it would require changing the entire tip/basket. On trail that that would be difficult. I bought the Black Diamond replacement tips and basket so I could up grade the Leki pole. I changed the tip/basket on one of my well used long distance Z poles. And I changed the Leki tip so that I could replace the metal part on trail easily. (It's weird I know, I use mis matched poles. One adjustable one fixed length). The replacement was easy. I used a heat gun to loosen the existing tips. Used a little Silicone adhesive to Glue the new tips on. The repair, and replacement came out perfect. I refurbished a well used Long Distance Z and up graded a Leki pole. Very happy with product and service.

I have replaced flex tips several times in my BD poles (2 different models), they work perfect. Just keep in mind that to remove the old ones, you have to put them in very hot water for a few minutes, then are very easy to remove. Otherwise is close to impossible without damaging the poles.

No Go

I am unable to get the old tips off my poles after precisely following instructions provided. Therefore, although there is nothing wrong with the new tips, they are useless to me. And sadly, the trekking poles are soon to be useless as well without functional tips.

Trekking pole refurbish

Many miles of hiking with my Black Diamond trekking poles wore down the original tips making them slip when least wanted at times. The ordering on-line and receipt of the Flex Tech tips from Black Diamond was super easy. The poles are as good as new now.

Not as easy to remove

Not as easy to remove the old tips but these new ones fit like a glove, like putting new tires on a car. Up the mountain I go.

Perfect

Able to replace my broken tip on my alpine trek poles. Took some work to swap, but bow it works great.

With a quick YouTube video to learn how to make the fix. It was really easy to deal with. So far it’s holding up perfect as well.
