Been darn cold here in CO this winter-lotsa subfreezing days, especially in the hills. Keeping the digits cold is paramount to a good day on the slopes-and the mercury mitts keep everybody happy. The real deal.

A Really Good Design all Around

I thought they would be good based on the specs - solid amount of synthetic insulation, durable palms. They exceeded what I hoped due to the hi pile inner lining. Had them bushwhacking / breaking up deep snow this winter on some ADK high peaks and even when I had to squeeze out my glove liners from the snow dumping off everything and getting everywhere the pile lining does not collapse/wet out and allowed me to keep hands warm / evaporate some of that wet. The outers were frozen due to all the water, and I was still fine. So they get major points for damp/icy/cold NE winters because they deal well with the constant moisture. Used them on several overnights as well and they were still functional handling a couple days of it. Can sleep with the removable liners on overnight to dry if needed. Palms have held up to various spruce/fir scrub swimming, some ice ax use, and clawing through deep snow. Seems pretty good.

Great mittens for cold people!

I have very poor circulation and have struggled to find warm gloves/mittens forever. These really did the trick. Super warm and comfortable, too.

Finally gloves that keep my hands warm and dry. Very happy with the quality. I don't have large hands glad I ordered XL size. I feel the sizing runs small. Overall I wood recommend.

Bought for a week of extreme cold temperatures (-10F) while skiing the VT mountains. Without heat packs, these mittens did the trick. Highly recommended!

Best Mitts Out There

There is nothing better than a new pair of Mercury Mitts. They hug your bands like a Teddy bear and keep them warm and dry during all day back country adventures. If it is not too cold for the rest of you it is definitely not too cold for these mittens. Be sure to use the provided leather water-proofing cream to truly seal them from any penetration from the elements.

Warm Digits in the Single Digits

January and February here in Maine can get pretty cold, and maintains core heat is essential to outdoor activities. I am very happy with the effectiveness of my Mercury Mitts in keeping my digits warm. The Mitts are very well made and extremely comfortable. They are easy to get into and out of, and overlap well to a jacket. They are waterproof and weather tight. I’ll definitely try other Black Diamond products when the need arises.
