Extend lightly.

The Oz Runner Set includes two of Black Diamond's lightest alpine quickdraws for reducing rope drag on wandering climbing routes. The Oz carabiners are Black Diamond's lightest biners, and they still boast the game-changing HoodWire technology for snag-free cleaning and convenient clipping. The Dynex runner is super skinny to reduce weight and bulk on your harness.

better deal

buying the alpine draw is more affordable than buying the two carabiners separately. Overall I'm happy with these alpine draws as they are kind of the go-to for trad climbing

Perfect

Was looking for a way to extend without using super bulky nylon runners. A buddy had these and recommended them. Love the hooded gate preventing snags and love how light they are. Barely takes up any room on my gear loop and does exactly what I need it to. Super pleased with them.

Alpine draws

My favorite combo of light and strong without taking up too much room on my rack.

Light and smooth

Augmented my positron draws with these keyhole hot wires. Can’t wait to clip some ice gear!

The best

They're not the cheapest but they're the best. Big enough for a gloved finger, if you're climbing alpine.

Comeback when?

The size, feel, weight and versatility of these are unrivaled - really wish theses were not discontinued! Get them if you can find them, you will not regret it. So good on ice, alpine and trad climbs.

Difficult to differentiate carabiners

The draws functionality is great - lightweight, don't snag, easy to use. My only real issue is that the two grey carabiners are very difficult to differentiate. After extensive use, one carabiner will create sharp, jagged edges from repeated use on bolts, while the other side will be worn down (smooth) from the rope. It is important to distinguish these two sizes so as to prevent snagging and tearing the rope's sheath. This can easily occur if not careful. I would like it if BD would anodize one significantly darker in order to differentiate the two sides.

Awesome

I am a beginner when it comes to leading and the versatility these draws give was certainly a confidence booster.

Miguided

A “QuickDraw” by definition is a runner that is quick to clip because the rope clipping carabiner is secured in a fixed position. So the very name of this product is totally misleading and contributes to overall misunderstanding of climbing terms. Please change the name of this product. The “snag free” shroud has already become snagged in small bolt hangers and pitons repeatedly. I actually had to pound the carabiner out of a bolt hanger with a hammer to get it out. The shroud is just too big.
