Great quality, off size
My husband is a men's large in everything. This men's large was WAY big on him, comical. Wish it had fit, everything seemed nice just didn't work for him.

Bomber construction without bulk
This jacket is my go-to....construction is outstanding, pocket placement is good, and it supports everything from full on storm days to higher level aerobic activities. I use it for skiing, snowshoeing, and winter days on the fat bike. It's nice to have a single piece that supports all my activities, and I'll be throwing it in my pack for summer rain protection. The hood design is great for over a helmet, and I've found that folding the visor in once or twice makes for a perfect fit when you don't have a helmet on. I especially appreciate the durable material choices. Wrist closures are good, and the goggle wipe is a nice add. Just about perfect for year around play in Winter Park! Update: Just took this shell on a 6 day tour around Mt. Blanc from Chamonix. Several days with solid rain, some transitioning to snow, and the jacket never saturated. Stellar! Note: When BD says this is sized for a snow sport helmet, that means that the hood can be way big if you don't have a helmet on. There's a bungee cinch, but it has it's limits. I ended sewing a velcro patch set on the hood to reduce size and that kept the visor situated nicely and maintained visibility and dryness in steady downpours. I still LOVE this shell! It should last many seasons!

True to size and stretches
True to size and stretches in the right places. There's enough room underneath to layer with the other BD pieces I own. I bought the green to stay visible on dull days. Superior quality. Really impressed.

replacement of patagonia pow slayer jacket
Got this BD recon pro jacket to replace my patagonia pow slayer jacket, 6', buck 3/4 lbs, size large, fits great, at least as good as my pow slayer, looking forward to wearing it in storm conditions next winter (true test).

Great tech piece!!
Runs a little big, would not call it trim fit or athletic fit at all, but everything else about it is incredible!!

Thoughtful design results in a great ski shell
I recently went from a more traditional ski jacket to this shell and have no regrets. The BD Dry material is great and works as advertised. It is lightweight and breathable, but it doesn't have that "crunchy" feel that comes with many waterproof shells. The design is well thought out, with the less flexible shell portion and the more soft shell style strategically placed to both maximize weather protection and mobility. Additional details, like the removable powder skirt, internal mesh pockets and vents that are easy to zip open or closed, show that the designer paid attention to detail. Finally, I love the fit and look, and isn't how you look on the aki slipe half the battle... All in all this is a great ski shell and worth the cost.

Sturdy, lots of features and fits well
- Familiarity:
- I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
Runs large. I'm a 40R jacket, usually a medium but the small fit better. Beefier jacket than all the other 3L 20k ones i tried. Would like deeper inside pockets, but the rest of them are well placed and right sized
