Why We Like The Black Diamond Sprinter 500 Headlamp
The Sprinter 500 is Black Diamond's premium headlamp for runners who rack up miles after sunset or before sunrise. With 500 lumens on its brightest setting, it gives us plenty of night vision while the PowerTap technology lets us adjust our brightness setting up or down with simple taps. The single-button interface makes it easy to turn the lamp off and on and switch between six modes, and the digital lockout feature prevents the lamp from accidentally turning on in our pocket or pack. Conveniently, the Sprinter features two power options—it can run off three AAA batteries (sold separately) or the included rechargeable Lithion Ion battery, giving us backup options on long, overnight runs. Light on our heads yet bright on the trail, the Sprinter 500 Headlamp helps us run safely on the road and on the trail.

Perfect for Runners
Lightweight, long battery life, and fits comfortably on the head without shaking or sliding as you run. Would recommend for any early morning or late night runner who wants to have better visibility.

Great for most part
Only reason I'm giving 4/5 is because its rather difficult to have this sit on your head correctly with a pony tail / as someone with a lot of hair. Either I put my pony tail off centre, feeling rather uncomfortable and from what others have told me, my hair covers the back light. Otherwise, great visibility.

Sprinter 500 Headlight
The headlight functions perfectly. Back flasher mode gives plenty of warning to approaching cars and the front light is plenty bright.

black diamond headlamp
I had an older version and was saddened when it broke. Tried a Nebo rechargable and it was subpar. so, i broke down and got this and the battery has lasted for several days now. i love the red blinkers on the back and how adjustable it is. overall it is quite adjustable and fits over my hat and works like a headlamp should. the downsides are that it takes microusb (come on usb c should be standard for everything!) and i wish the front light had a red light like my original, but having a decent rechargeable battery makes it worth it.

Meets Expectations - Happy with purchase
I recently purchased this headlamp for trail running, mostly shorter, runs in the dark, no more than 90 minutes. I like how you can set the front and back lighting systems independently, and I find the front light grand seen a lot of control. The weight and comfort are good, not as excellent as a lighter weight headlamp that I had that broke, and I think that weight versus durability may be a necessary trade-off. Yes, I would purchase this again.

I Can See!!
This new Sprinter 500 is excellent. I had used an earlier model (pre-Sprinter 275) for 5 years. It was still working, but the headstrap was shot and a replacement was no longer available. The 500 is bright and shines far ahead when I need that, but is still bright enough when there is a bit of ambient light and I reduce the brightness. I look forward to many years of running with this headlamp.

Light up the overnight Ultras
I love my Black diamond Spot 400, but I upgraded to the Sprinter 500 headlamp to power through the night when I am running 100M Ultras. Initially, I was worried that the Sprinter 500 would be too bulky, but the design is actually quite comfortable.
