Why We Like The Storm 500-R Headlamp
Black Diamond is enhancing its Storm headlamp lineup with the new R-Series lamps. This particular Storm 500-R Headlamp is a high-lumen and multi-mode lamp that gives us the power to fully illuminate our nights with nine different lighting modes and the potential for 5H of charge time at the highest setting. We really like that the Repreve headband stops that uncomfortable, hair-pulling sensation we often get with cheaper headlamps.

Great for camping
This headlamp is perfect for camping. It makes it easy to get around your campsite in the dark.

Nice bright lamp
Its bright, and illuminates for a lot longer than other brand headlamps. I will say its slightly bulkier and heavier than my old Petzl lamp but the battery lasts longer.

Good, lightweight for the size and rechargability
This thing blinded me immediately (no, I didn't purposely mean to look into the light) Has worked great on late night ski tours.

Awesome Headlamp
With bright beams, wide floods and useful color combos I find the Storm 500-R to be a great all around light. USB recharging took away the hassle of needing multiple replacement batteries at once which I would much rather not have to carry and the form factor keeps it close and out of the way of snag hazards.

Got this headlamp for the
Got this headlamp for the red light and rechargeable features. I think having the rechargeable option compared to the battery-powered one is worth the upgrade when you consider the cost of batteries and ease of only needing one power bank for all electronics.
