Why We Like The Black Diamond Stormline Stretch Rain Shell
Faraway clouds float overhead faster than we think, and when that happens we dig through our pack for the Black Diamond Stormline Stretch Rain Shell. Its BD.dry laminate is completely waterproof and breathable enough for the ascent, and the stretchy fabric moves with us up the mountain. Black Diamond gusseted the shell's fit so we can climb without the harness pulling up and over our harness, and each underarm also features DWR-treated zippers that provide ventilation when you get warm.

my new favorite rain jacket

So light!
This the lightest rain jacket I’ve ever owned but it still holds up really well to the Pacific Northwest winter. The hood works well with my helmet but when I’m not wearing a helmet, it cinches in the back so it stays on better. I got a size large so it could fit over all my layers and it fits well without being too oversized.

Good fit and waterproofing
The jacket fits nicely, packs down to a decent size (small enough to put in a hydration vest back pocket), and is super waterproof. The rain beads up on the shell and can be shaken off easily. I’m 5’7”, 140lbs, athletic build, and small chested, and the small was a good fit even over a base layer. I took away one star due to the hood. There are side elastics inside the hood along the face that you can use to pull it tighter for more fit, but no way to secure them. Also, there is no back adjustment on the hood, which would have made the hood fit perfect. I bought this jacket on sale, so will keep it, but it would have gone back if I had paid full price!

Light, breathable, comfortable
Bought this jacket as my old one was getting worn out, and am very satisfied. Didn’t realize how heavy and stiff my old one was till I started wearing this one- wishing I upgraded sooner!

Great rain shell
Super light weight, packs down teeny tiny, fits perfect and honestly holds up better than most of the technical rain shells I’ve had over the years. Might get another in a different color😎

Weather Warrior
I recently purchased the Women’s Stormline Stretch Rain Shell just five days before a mountain top hike, and I’m thrilled to report it arrived right on time! On hike day, the weather was nothing short of a tempest—rain, sleet, and winds greeted us at the peak. I was truly impressed by how well the shell performed. It kept me completely dry and comfortable despite the less desirable conditions. The fabric allowed for easy movement. For sizing, I usually go for a medium, but I opted for a large to accommodate layering. This was the right choice; the large fit perfectly without feeling bulky, while a medium would have been uncomfortably tight. Another highlight is how compact the jacket is when packed away—it fits nicely in my bag,

Awesome performance fit
I am super impressed with how lightweight but also extremely protective this rain shell is. The design is unmatched- it has everything you need and nothing more. I ordered the XS and I am 5'0" and 110lbs, and it fits great, albeit a little long in the arms (I am just short). It's also super stretchy so when I tried it with all my base layers and midlayers on, I still has good range of motion. Can't wait to take it to the mountains and put it to the real test.

This jacket was so much
This jacket was so much better than I had hoped for. I got a size medium to be able to fit a puffy under it. It is very roomy and comfy!
