More snow please

I really like the lightweight strap on the pro version compared to the regular traverse. Best value out there as many brands cheap out unlike BD! Also, basket size is awesome. Next time offer a matching blue basket. Or orange/red on the regular traverse

Good trekking poles

Nice trekking poles, lighter than the previous version. I was trying the pull away ski pole straps and when I snap them back in my son got pinched between the top of the pole and the latch and took a huge chunk of my thumb out and it was bleeding profusely. Be careful snapping and unsnapping.

Great product

I had another set of these and they had snapped while in my luggage(thanks FedEx), these were a great upgrade, the metal clasps are worlds apart from the old version. Would buy again

Sturdy and lightweight backcountry essential!

These poles take abuse and keep asking for more! Wish I had bought another pair

OK update on a Classic... except the Grips

I finally broke one of my Traverse ski poles after 12 years of abuse. Great pole. Of course, I thought the new Traverse Pro would be a better replacement than sticking with the original. I wasn't sure about the breakaway wrist straps, but the new FlickLock mechanism and lighter weight sold me. These two features are great, but the grips/straps leave a bit to be desired. First, the grip is shorter from top to bottom than on my original Traverse poles, with a much more pronounced bottom prominence. I'm a pretty average sized guy, 5'10'', 180, who wears a size large glove/mitten, and this grip immediately felt really small. After a few tours I couldn't stand it and had to use a bench belt sander to grind off the bottom rubber prominence. They are much better now as I don't feel like my hand is pushed over the top of the grip all the time, but if you've got XL hands, this might not be the pole for you. Also, since I don't ski with wrist straps in avy terrain, I pulled off the included straps, but the quick release mechanisms are still in place in the grip. Now there is a little rattle with every pole plant. Not major, but annoying. The weight savings from the classic Traverse Poles may not be 100% worth it for the extra cash, but the poles are super sturdy and ski well.

Great Poles

They are not the lightest but they adjust and lock nicely. They are super sturdy and the straps function great and safely.

Great poles

I love these poles. They are light, well balanced, easy to adjust and strong. There is nothing more that I need in a backcountry ski Pole. Highly recommended!!!

I like the new latches

I'm still waiting for some snow to give these a try, but I like the new latches a lot, and they seem just fine in all other ways. It's a little non-obvious about the lock and unlock for adjusting the wrist straps, but not difficult one you understand that you actually flip the tap all the way around to go from unlocked to locked. I also found that putting a little wax on the threads to put on the baskets, and using as much downward pressure (with the handle on the floor) as I could finally got the baskets on. I don't mind that it was a bit hard, there's no chance they'll come off accidentally, but if you don't have much arm strength you may need some help putting the baskets on.
