Due to age and arthritis in my hips and lower back I use these neutral shoes to walk.

Nice Upgrade
Love the new level of foam in the fore foot. Big improvement over the previous version. I was happy to see the new orange version which I purchased. I find the other offerings mind numbingly dull. The color is more peach or terra cotta. But I like them and encourage Brooks to be bolder in their designs. Make them a bit more interesting.

Great Premium Daily Trainer
I have 30 miles on these and am enjoying them. I think they are a very good option in the premium trainer category. Very well built overall. The midsole foam feels great for my tastes--compliant-ish, but not too squishy. Upper is very comfortable, especially around the ankle; tongue is well-padded. Very stable for a neutral shoe and my feet feel very protected. They fit true to size, with good room in the toe box. Outsole looks like a beast and grip seems solid. I'm using for base/daily miles; they respond fine for strides but not a tempo shoe (nor intended to be). This is my first venture into a Brooks daily trainer and I'm impressed. Also picked up a pair of the Glycerin Max, but, after trying them and a couple of other similar offerings from other manufacturers, have come to realize that max-stack/super-squish isn't really my thing . . . .

Typical "Glycerin" feel. Max cushioning but not "soft / squishy" like competitors max cushioning shoe. Ride of glycerin 22 not much different from glycerin 21. Fit for me, size 9, was unchanged compared to glycerin 21. Great training shoe (Reviewed based on 50 miles of running).

Change isn’t always better
I was very excited for a version that might be even more comfortable than my darn near perfect 21s. Unfortunately, after buying and returning 3 pairs of 22s, they all were uncomfortably tight across my instep. I consoled myself by purchasing another pair of 21s. In this case, I sure wish Brooks didn’t try to fix what wasn’t broken.

Unfortunately I have bad knees & can no longer run. I do try to walk daily & the Glycine 22 are like walking on air. I highly recommend for all my fellow 60 +. You won’t be disappointed!

They Shrunk The Toe Box
WHY Brooks, WHY? The Glycerin 20 and Glycerin 21 were perfect for me. I wear size 12.5 Wide The Glycerin 22's are markedly more narrow. My toes are crushed against each other. I could go up a size but that adds weight and the shoe will be too big lengthwise. Very disappointed that brooks did this.
