Why We Like The Burley Nomad Touring Cargo Bike Trailer
Packing light for bike touring is a thing of the past. With the Burley Nomad Touring Cargo Bike Trailer, we can bring an extra 100 pounds of gear along without impacting how our bike handles for the long haul. The lightweight frame and nimble construction make this trailer feel weightless behind the bike, and when setting up camp, the trailer collapses flat to fit next to us in a two-person shelter. The cargo space is generous, and the cover keeps wet weather away from our gear. The tow arm and hitch are included for usability right out of the box, and the trailer comes with a safety flag to prevent encounters with cars day after day.

Amazing little trailer
Love this thing. Built extremely well, high quality materials. Tracks very well, super smooth, no rattles or squeaks. This, with my cargo e-bike has replaced my car for errands including grocery shopping. Adding the rack is a great choice, as you can strap all sorts of things to it. Extremely happy with my purchase!

Preliminary test
I got the Nomad along with a walking/ hiking kit to walk the closed to vehicles 4wd roads in Death Valley NP after water damage. So far all I have done is to test the rig along with others on the derelict 4wd roads in the Sierra foothills behind my house. But I can say it is the only such setup which I would take on a real trip. Since the crux of the whole proposition is the need to carry a lot of water (about 8 to 10 lbs per full day) I loaded the Nomad with about 100 lbs (the maximum allowed) of weight lifting plates. With the weight of the Nomad, roof rack etc the total weight was about 120lbs. With sand tires on the axle, flat and gentle slopes were little more effort than would have been involved in walking the same terrain with a 20 lb daypack. Poles were needed for steep uphill to get traction . Going down steep or loose was best done letting the cart go first and holding the waist belt in my hands. I was so happy with all of this, along with the high quality construction, that I used it to take surfboards down a beach behind a mountain bike and got a child rig for my daughter to use with the new grandchildren too.

So far so good!
So far so good! Haven’t had it too long but so far it has done what I expected of it. Dragged it up some curbs, thru some dirt and grass, on road, and sidewalks, the Nomad has done all I’ve asked of it. The space is more than I expected, can fit much more than I have put in it so far. Easy to break down for storage and put back together. Barely notice it when in tow, tracks nice and feels planted and stable even when not hauling much.

Between the Nomad and my
Between the Nomad and my Burley Flatbed, I can haul all sorts of stuff behind our Pedego Bikes. Current project is to haul 300 watts of solar, a lithium battery, and inverter so I can charge the Pedego between rides. Burley is a big hit in my Pedego Wichita store BTW.

The Burley Encore X is
The Burley Encore X is an excellent bike trailer and a great stroller. My wife and I use it with our grandson. As a stroller he enjoys his walks in in the neighborhood and at the zoo. It is so easy to hook up to the bike and go for rides. We both have a mounting bracket on our bikes, so easy to swap between riders. It rolls very smoothly when attached to the bike and in stroller mode. You will not be disappointed, an excellent design and high quality.

Dimension spec is wrong!
The specifications say that the inside width is 18.5 inches, but my trailer arrived measuring 18 inches to the OUTSIDE! This was really disappointing because I was planning on putting a piece of equipment that measures 17.5 inches in the trailer and it doesn't fit. I like everything else about the trailer, but now I need to buy the cargo rack for this large piece. (Burley product manager, change your spec to match the current build, please!)

Perfect trailer
Love this trailer. It pulled great, traveled well, and fit everything we needed for camping for 4 people. We compared every trailer out there. This one hit all the marks, weight, size, capacity, and foldability. Loved the divider inside and when it is all buttoned up it looks great.

Go Nomad
Love my Nomad. It is light weight and I can hardly tell I have a trailer in tow. The cover make sure all my gear stays dry and secure. Being able to fold the Nomad down and remove the wheels easily makes storage easy when I'm not using the Nomad.

Top Cargo Trailer
I took the Burley Nomad on a 500km long tour across the netherlands and germany, constantly loaded with appr. 25-30kg and he did an excellent job! The trailer moves extremly stable, even on bumpy tracks and the weight doesn‘t feel as heavy as it really is. I would recommend buying an additional base plate, especially if transporting heavier cargo to prevent the fabric from sagging. Would be great if Burley offered a base plate themselves. The trailer also proofed completely waterproof and is very easy to clean. I highly recommend the Burley Nomad, the price performance ratio is unbeatable!
