Driver X Snowboard Boot
For as long as we can remember, the Burton Driver X snowboard boot has set the benchmark for insane response and ultimate support. The historically stiff flex got stiffer this year, which makes it as perfect for holding onto your line in critical conditions as it is for skinning back up. The Speed Zone dual zone lace system makes it easy get your boots as tight as you need for a flawless fit.
There's a removable tongue insert, just in case you're looking for even more response. It doesn't hurt that the grippy Vibram EcoStep Plus outsole gets an upgrade in the form of Ice Spikes, which make the last few feet of your ridge line approach a little bit safer. As with the rest of Burton's lineup, Shrinkage technology reduces your footprint by a full boot size, and that means less overhang so you stay locked on edge, instead of booting out. When you point it down, you'll appreciate the B3 Gel in the heel, which stops heel bruises dead in their tracks. When your life depends on precise control, look no further than the Driver X.

Great boots. Almost perfect

Love the boots. Quick lace system is super convenient and they don’t loosen throughout the day. If you’re looking for support and responsiveness, the boots have them in spades. My only qualm is due to the design of the quick laces, the top portion of the boot doesn’t tighten as much as I would like. The lace system tightens the loop closest to the ankle first and by the time that tension has been wrapped in and out the boot a couple times and reaches the top, there’s not much left. The result is you end up getting a little play up high before your shin gets the boots to respond. The support is still really good, and once that shin hits, the boots respond. Wonder if burtons thought about adding one of those Velcro shin straps that deeluxe has been putting on their boots. Thinking of figuring one out myself. Anywho, good luck and happy hunting on the dreadful snowboard boot finding pilgrimage. 4.5/5 final rating

They do seem stiffer than my previous pair and I also had to go up a 1/2 size. No BOA to break, bomber boots.

Amazing how comfortable these boots are right out of the box, it’s got a bit more lateral stiffness than I thought- exactly what I wanted. Test run tomorrow. Shipped and to me ridiculously fast- to Maryland in three days! Thank you Snozzelfondu
