Dirt Series Podium Water Bottle
Designed especially for the off-road crowd, the Dirt Series Podium 21oz Bottle from CamelBak aims to quench your thirst without any weird tastes from inside your bottle or on the valve. CamelBak uses a BPA-free TruTaste material and won't taint the flavor of your drink and the HydroGuard anti-odor coating keeps sports drinks from funking up the inside of the bottle.
A self-sealing Jet Valve prevents spills and splatters and a gentle squeeze of the bottle delivers a high-flow of your beverage. At the base of the valve, a positive lockout lets you turn the valve 90 degrees so no liquid inadvertently spills in your race bag or car. What makes this particular bottle dirt worthy is the integrated mud cap that seals out the elements preventing any contamination of the drinking surface. So if you have a full-suspension frame that forces you to carry a bottle on the underside of your downtube and you ride on trails that are equine friendly, you can thank us later.

Perfect to keep the dust out
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
I noticed riding more gravel and dirt trails near me that my bottles would always be covered in dust. Never fun having to put your mouth over a dusty bottle only to spit it out before having to drink. And in this day and age of covid, I don't think we should be spitting on trails even if you're away from everyone (no one's ever looked down at spit and was happy to see it). So this bottle is perfect for gravel rides because the cap is rubber and comes off easily with a flick of the thumb. Yes the size isn't the largest, but that just seems to be the trend in bottle size. Hey bottle companies, how about just keep the 5 grams of making it larger and let us fill it less if we want? Haha whatever, it is what it is. If you know you need larger then don't get this bottle. However, if you want to keep dust out of your mouth, then this is a good bottle. I'm going to take off one star because the top rubber part can be a little tricky to put on, especially one handed when you're on bumpy terrain. I would like to see a little heavier material there or less dangly of a top connector so you don't have to search for the top to put it back on. Then when inserting it back in the cage, if you don't put a finger on the top it can easily come off with an accidental rub. Still, it's not super hard to do, just I don't think the top is perfect as is.

Undersized
Bought one based on 20 Oz. claim. It barely holds 18 Oz. Haven't used it yet. Hopefully the valve lives up to claims. Not worth the effort to return.

Water Bottle Fits Frame, However...
- Familiarity:
- I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
The Dirt Series Podium 21oz Water Bottle by Camelbak works perfectly for my Specialized Turbo Levo frame. I purchased two, one for me and another for my wife. Sadly, after one ride the inside of one of the bottles came apart. After just ONE use! It's not cost effective to return the bottle so I guess I'll try to find another one and see what happens. Great water bottle size for my frame, but a little disappointed by the lack of quality.

Loose fit in bike water bottle cage
This new model of this bike bottle does not have the diameter required to fit securely in an universal water bottle cage as its predecessor model. As a consequence, you can easily loose it on a bike ride and it also creates a rattle noise.

Over engineered
Overly complex, leaves a full swallow of liquid in the bottle. That can only be obtained by removing the lid. Lid leaks when squeezed rapidly. Lost the dust cover on 1 bottle. And after 100 miles of riding I still haven't found a use for the locking mechanism.

Best MTB Water bottle
Best water bottle for MTB, keeps the dirt off the mouthpiece, water flows well, easy to use with one hand, and even has a locking mechanism for travel to the trail. Perfect!

My all time favorite bottle
I have no idea what these ppl are talking about with their complaints of not being able to actuate the valve or disassemble it for cleaning. Seriously. I'm only writing this review because I was irritated by how bad some ppl made it sound when it really is the best bottle I've ever used and it took me about 30 seconds to figure out how to take it apart.

I like it!!! The dirt cap is everything
Who would have thought? Especially only riding in New York City. But, I have to say, when I do reach down to grab, the dirt cap has dirt on it. Hmm, than means without the cap, I would have been sucking on dirt. I like it. It gives me a reason to find the trail in Central Park. It is not just about the loop ya know.
