Podium Chill Water Bottle

There's nothing like some freezing water to refresh yourself while you're running or biking under a hot sun, and the Camelbak Podium Big Chill Water Bottle makes sure your water stays cold for a long time. Its BPA-free TruTaste polypropylene material is safer to drink out of than polycarbonate plastics and it won't distort your water's taste, and HydroGuard insulation keeps your beverage chilled twice as long as regular sports bottles. The Jet Valve cap is spill-proof and self-sealing so you can squeeze some deliciousness down your gullet quickly and get back to what you were doing.

Needs FULL RED!

These are great bottles. Lets see the Podium Chills in full red color. Just like the regular Podium bottles. Do it!

I have other steel bottles,

I have other steel bottles, not Camelbak, that keep cold and ice doesn’t melt quickly despite the heat. This steel Camelbak does not keep the fluid cold and the ice melts quickly. I used both my new Camelbak and my non-Camelbak steel bottle on a long bike ride. My knock-off stayed cold whereas the Camelbak heated up. Disappointing.

Why are there no posted reviews lower than 5?

I'm looking for both the pros and cons for this water bottle and can find no reviews below 5 even though, according to the reviews graph, there are 69 reviewers that gave this product 4 or less.

Insulated?

I recently got an Insulated Camelback Podium bottle with dividend money at REI. I must say I'm surprised by all of the good reviews, because when I fill mine with cold water, and even ice cubes, by the time I drive to my starting point and get things out of the car, the water is approaching the ambient temperature. It's been a warm summer, so I'm drinking 80°+ water. In addition, if water has been in the bottle for a few hours, there's a definite "plasticky" taste. I do like the valve on the cap. You have to squeeze it to deliver water and it won't spill. Plus, you can lock it, so spillage is pretty much non-existent. I do like that part. It's been semi-retired to nightly use as my night stand water bottle. Cats can't dump it :-) But, overall, while not terribly expensive, I'd still look around a bit before I buy my next bottle.
