Broke on both ends

Had this leash for a month and it broke TWICE at the most inconvenient times. The large metal buckle/clasp broke while we were taking outdoor family photos. I had to switch ends and clip the smaller end to the pup's collar and continued to use it. Another month later we took him to bass pro and he got loose in the store because the other metal buckle broke. Reached out to carhartt to notify them of the issue and send photos and never heard back. Very disappointed.

Waste of Money

Do not buy this leash!! I bought this leash based on multiple other Carhartt products that I own and their durability over the years. The second time I used this on my dog, it snapped. Carhartt has really gone downhill ever since their products have become "trendy" with people and their merchandise is sold at every other store now instead of a "farm based store." Luckily, I was able to grab my dog the second it broke and walk her home. I will not be buying anymore products of theirs until they do some serious quality control.

I just purchased the leash and have no idea how to use it. There should be instructions or video available. Won't do me any good till I know what goes where. It's disappointing that a company like Carhart wouldn't have instructions for use.

Tough and durable. The clasp isn't the easiest to use, but my escapist artist dogs can't get off it

Please include Instructions with this Leash.

I love the color .. reflective detail and the overall quality of the leash. What I did not like .. how the leash did not come with instructions. There are many ways which you can use it and I had to look to the reviews to find a person who's review showed a picture of how to use the floating metal D ring. Carhart should have instructions included on this leash and because they did not I am giving a lower review rating.. and if I had not found this picture I would have definitely returned leash to the store. An instructional video would be nice too. Thanks

Poor quality.

My dog was able to twist around and get unlatched. Latch broke completely after just a few months of use.

I've been using this leash for 2 years.

I have read other reviews about the clip breaking or opening but I have never had either issue with my 65 lb. field lab. I walk my dog a night and find the reflective stitching to work very well and the main reason I use this leash. The only issue I've had is when my dog is bored when I'm talking to someone on walk and he starts to chew on it. I've had to buy two in the last 18 months due to the chewing when I'm paying attention and that is my fault. I like the clip slides because I can quickly clip him to something so he can't wander off. My only complaint is that the material is not very comfortable for your hands compared to other leashes - I wish the handle was a bit softer.

WARNING!!!! Dog can break free from this leash. We are doing training with our pup and if she becomes over stimulated by a situation and reacts poorly, she can break free. Carhartt needs to fix the design of the clasp that connects to the collar. It can easily become open if a small amount of pressure is applied in the correct direction.

Like not like

I bought this leash and love the quality! But if you're walking your dog and they turn the clasp that hooks onto the harness opens!!! When I first walked my dogs with their new leash I thought I was crazy because who would design a leash that the clasp going onto their harness would open up and release when they just simply turned around. My husband walked them the next day and one dog got loose by simply turning. I went to the local hardware store and bought clasps with spinners and now we are happy with the product because they are hooked onto a spinner not the actual leash we bought. This item is well made but the design is not safe if you want to use it as a secure leash without your own alterations.
