Why We Like The Castelli Alpha Flight RoS Limited Edition Jacket
When winter temps blow in, we roll out wearing the Castelli Alpha Flight RoS Limited Edition Jacket. The performance fit and raw-edge hem keep us streamlined, while the Polartec Alpha insulation offers our chest, back, and arms moisture-managing warmth. As we pick up speed down hills, the wind-blocking power of Nano Flex Light in the chest, sleeves, and upper back stops the icy air from chilling our bones. And when we’re pushing up the next climb, the double-layer construction lets air move through to keep us from overheating.

Really good wx protection
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
I just received this today and immediately tried it on and headed outside...to feed our horses and do farrier work on several. Is a breeze from NW and about 35 degrees. This is ample and able to keep me very comfortable without anything else over top. I will wear this doing our barrel race competitions all winter, indoor arenas, but still need to be outside most of the time doing prep. And of course, this will be used riding my Trek through the winter months also. So is a dual purpose cold weather jacket, and I am confident that it will keep me very comfortable and often will include another jacket overtop doing either of my activities. Sometimes only a windbreaker and sometimes more. I like the vest type double front, which allows another level of ventilation.

Great colder weather jacket
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
Excellent insulation and wind-blocking material. Its streamline fit feels light and very non-restrictive. With bayer layer and long sleeve shirt, I was comfortable in mid to upper 40's. I'm 5-9" and 140 lbs. with athletic build and XL firs nicely.
