Aria Shell Jacket
When Castelli redesigned their wind vest and jacket, they understood we need a lightweight layer that protects from the wind, without making us catch the breeze like a sail. The Aria Jacket combines a windproof front panel with a stretchy mesh back and side panels to keep the jacket close to our body, helping us look every bit as classy with it on as when we’re riding in a jersey alone. This is the ideal layer to bring along on a ride to stay warmer on the descent. We barely notice its 80g in our pocket while climbing and certainly appreciate the protection from the wind on the way back down to the cafe.

Love this jacket.
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
I love this lightweight jacket. I think someone in another review said the arms were fairly narrow - and I agree with this. Fortunately, I have fairly thin arms or would’ve had to send it back. I can even wear lightweight arm warmers underneath. I am 5’10 and 140-145 lbs, and have long arms - I got the large, and it fits perfectly.

fitted jacket. love it
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
most wind jackets are loose fitting. this is one of the fewer truly snug and fitted jacket I've found. it fits like a glove. I wear it all the time and I'm getting a 2nd color.

Sleeves are too narrow

Other reviewers mentioned the same issue. Castelli needed to either make the sleeves wider or at least articulate the elbow. I’m fairly petite, and the sleeves aren’t terribly restrictive when the jacket is worn over short sleeves. But the sleeve, namely elbow region, become uncomfortable when worn over a long sleeve base layer. Forget wearing a thin fleece jacket underneath. The body fits true to size, except the shoulders are a bit too narrow. I like the venting that they have on the side body. This could be OK if you size up and only expect to wear short sleeves underneath. Returning this because I need a jacket that lets me layer a little, and U don’t like that this jacket is a little noisy.

I may have liked this in a large, but ordered a medium (my usual size) and could barely zip it. May have ripped had I flexed :-). Returned it.

The jury is still out on this one; the body is a form fit as described and true to size But ... the arms are 'super skinny tight' ?? and I have fairly skinny arms! Not sure how they will fit anyone with even 'regular' arms ... I am going to try on again with a short sleeved bike top and decide on either a return or a keeper. The 'vest' in the same theme fits like a dream.
