I have really cold feet and have tried everything and these work better than any other brand that I have tried. Women's size 8.5 cycling shoe and ordered a medium. My ankles are on the small side - they are a sung fit on the ankles but this probably contributes to their success. Order up a size if you have a medium build.

tight on ankle

Bought at a competitor, but they don't offer reviews for this product and y'all might need help with sizing since I struggled to find a review. These are tight in the ankle, as in pull them up and together then hope to pull the zipper up all the way tight. Also, it's strange to me to zip on the outside of the ankle when women's shoes tend to zip on the inner ankle. I wear a 38 and bought a large. Glad I did. It's a bit loose on a one BOA shoe, but the three velcro shoes it's tighter. Enough room to add a hot hands pack between the shoe and the cover, but not too tight to where you can't even get the cover over the shoe. Medium probably would fit, but it would be tight. I went to Castelli's site to find the correct size chart. Haven't worn on a ride because it's record highs summer still.

Warm but runs small in the ankle

These covers are well made and warm. I live in Minnesota and have been riding up to 30 miles in 20 degree temps with only a minimal amount of chill in my toes. My shoe size is 6.5. The small fits like a glove however, you would have to have the ankles of a 10 year old boy in order to zip them up. The medium still fit ok around the shoe and are still tight in the ankle but with effort can be zipped. I am 5'5' 106lbs and do not suffer from any cardiac anomalies that might cause me to retain water in my lower extremities. (ie: no "cankles" here...smile) Otherwise, love these covers!! But, buy the bigger size.
