Flanders Warm Long-Sleeve Baselayer
Nothing ruins a ride faster than catching a chill. Except maybe a flat tire. Or slushy conditions. Well OK, there are lots of things that rival catching a chill, but we still don't like it. So as the seasons change, we start thinking along the lines of layers, and this inevitably leads us to the Castelli Flanders Warm Base Layer.
The Flanders is made with a durable SottoZero Fleece that insulates and wicks. Dryer, after all, is warmer. Mesh inserts provide ventilation in the underarms, just in case you overheat, and the flatlock stitching and flat hems mean the Flanders will fit comfortably as a piece of layering gear. Castelli recommends it for use in 25 to 50 degrees Fahrenheit, and, while this range may seem excessive, we find that the Flanders gets the job done in all conditions when layered with the right outer layer.
The Castelli Flanders Warm Base Layer - Men's is available in six sizes ranging from X-Small to XX-Large in the color Grey.

My Favorite Baselayer
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
I've been riding a lotta years, and have used many base layers over the duration. This is the best one. I like it so much I bought a second! I use it under a regular jersey on cool days. I also wear this running in the winter. Great fit, great breathability and look. Highly recommend!

Too long
- Familiarity:
- I returned this product before using it
Not sure why someone would want something that goes so far down into bibshorts/tights but if you do, or you're really tall and thin, this might be good for you. Pretty nice but unusable for me so returned.

Castelli cool weather
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
This shirt is exceptionally well made. However, if you are more of a USA sized boy (like me) the Castelli sizes have gone crazy teeny tiny.... I ordered an XL and this is 5-6" shorter in the torso than a 10 year old Craft of similar use. It is a trend we all need to be aware of. Solid Castelli quality, but sizing is nowhere near what other brands are running. As a reference, CC had me purchase a 2XL long sleeve winter jersey and its PERFECT. ***I am 5'10" and weight 180-185 with a swimmer build as your reference

Great quality base layer for cycling. Extremely warm and ventilated in all the right spots. Make sure you size up in all the top layers made by Castelli. I own base layers from most of the top companies, and Castelli's quality and features are superior. It is cut short in the front like a cycling jersey, so do not buy for snow mountain related sports. I wish I was able to find ski base layers of this quality.

this thing is pretty nice. Went on a brisk ride and was surprised that while it kept me warm, also had some breath-ability in it. I would say it runs true to size, I'm 5'9" 165 athletic build 41" chest and this fit well. A little long in the arms but I also tried the XL and it was a little baggy

Love it:

Has been my go-to either above Assos base/skin layer or solo underneath Assos or Castelli jacket. Wicks great and adds the warmth and comfort I need in the 30s and low 40s. Not gonna lie, have also found myself wearing it as a casual base layer under a hoody in cooler weather - also perfect casual top above thin T-shirt.
