Why We Like The Prima Short
Castelli sets a high standard when it comes to performance cycling apparel, and the Prima Shorts receive comfort and elite-level design at an affordable price-point. Shorts with a bib-design are common in form-fitting cycling bottoms, however, shorts offer an appealing versatility that removes the hassle of controlling and concealing bibs, whether in spin-class or on the open road—not to mention decluttering nature-breaks. Castelli's Pro Dry Soft Lycra form-fits and supports during your most intense workouts, and as the temperatures rise, sweat is efficiently wicked away to help you finish strongly.
Castelli brings high performance to the Prima's chamois as well with the KISS AIR2 and an updated top-cloth for all-day softness and comfort. Giro3 leg grippers keep the shorts in place during sprint efforts, and the reflective details add low-light visibility as you chase the sunset.

I love CASTELLI Shorts
- Familiarity:
- I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
Very pleased - bought these for a longer distance ride with good climbing. The shorts are super comfortable and fit very well. Love all Castelli products!

I bought these in full confidence and support for previous Castelli shorts. I wore them twice on the trainer (they are tight!) and then braved them out on the road. Immediately when exposed to the elements (the summer heat), the logo started to peel. I am unhappy with these, but have worn them and it’s been over a month so I am stuck with them. Will stick to brands with better results for the miles I put into cycling shorts.

Buying another pair
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
I tend to like Castelli shorts, but not all work for me. I tended to buy free aero shorts. These are just as good. I am not rail thin. I have a female cyclist's body. I ride a lot.

Squeaky Seams, Tight Waistband
- Familiarity:
- I returned this product before using it
The castelli chamois is so nice, but the waistband is just too constrictive. I have a 28 inch waist and ordered a M, which should've given me plenty of clearance, but there was no chance. I couldn't stand being in these longer than 30 seconds. Also, no one seems to be mentioning how squeaky these are. Like any leg movement causes the seams to squeak--I think it's the reflective material on the back that's doing it. Not something I've ever encountered before...

Worried about the seams
- Familiarity:
- I returned this product before using it
Sized up per previous review. Overall I love these shorts, the fabric, waistband, leg grippers and chamois are awesome and super comfortable. The catch is that the seams on the backside of the shorts are not flat, and just with trying them on they were a bit uncomfortable. I fear they would rub on long rides. Sadly, I will likely be returning these.

Nice but odd fit
- Familiarity:
- I returned this product before using it
I sized up as recommended and the shorts fit comfortably around the waist, upper thighs. They seem well made. However, the band/leg gripper is way too loose. I can't tell if this particular short is defective or if this short is really made for taller women. I'm 5'4.

My new favorites but run small.

I sized up after reading the other reviews and it was a good thing that I did. I normally wear a small in Gore but ordered a medium and they were perfect. 5?8? 125 pounds. The chamois Is perfect for me. According to their size chart I should have ordered a small but the medium was perfect.

lovely shorts
5'6" 120 lbs. 100+ miles/ week. These shorts should be great, as the fit is perfect. Ordered 1 size up as I am normally a small in other manufacturers. The narrowness in the front part of the chamois is a nice advantage as too much chamois seems to be the case for most shorts and I don't tolerate a lot of bulk in the hot summer months. Typical, excellent Castelli quality.
