Castelli Summer Skullcap
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
- Size Bought:
- One size fits all
Doesn't manage at my sweat during the more extreme heat/humity Midwestern summer rides. Does seem to direct sweat away from my eyes, with most drips falling without hitting my face. Is much cooler feeling than the bananas I use to use. Certainly better than the bananas I was using.

The Castelli skull cap has a nice feel, and a touch of style. It is lightweight, has a stretchy head band and provides great sun protection for my bald head under my helmet. I've tested it on rides in 95F+ heat and it wicks sweat and ventilates very well. On the very hot & dry days here, I wet it with water for additional cooling. Unlike other reviewers, I think the fit is spot on. I have medium head and wear a 55-59cm size in bicycle, climbing and ski helmets. This skull cap fits firmly enough to not move or slip, but is not too tight. If you are lucky enough to have a thick head of hair YMMV.

Too small just as others reported
- Familiarity:
- I returned this product before using it
- Size Bought:
- One-size
- Height:
- 5' 9.5"
- Weight:
- 142
I also use Medium size helmets (with plenty of spare room for balaclava plus hat in the winter) - this one is very small for me almost immediately resulting in a headache. I like Castelli race fit tight jerseys and bibs, but in headgear too tight is a problem. If you have a small head, it looks to be decent quality. Otherwise Castelli Bandana is not bad.
