Why We Like The Chaco Bodhi Sandal

Chaco simplified the shape of their classic and created the Bodhi Sandal. This lightweight, low-profile sandal offers the same stability and performance as the original. The recycled jacquard straps follow a similar pattern of the Z/Sandal, and the toe loop provides the security we love.

I’m a fan!

I have been familiar with Chacos for awhile and how they are very popular due to their quality and functionality. The problem was that all of the models I saw were way to chunky and heavy and with me being a minimalist footwear fan I just couldn’t get with them. However, when I saw these and read some of the reviews and saw that they were less beefy and light my reason for not getting a pair of chacos was gone. I love this sandal, it’s stylish and practical and pretty light to boot. If there was any critique I would give it would actually be for Chaco to add a huarache type sandal to the line up. You’ve gained a new fan in me!

I’m a fan!

Bought the sandals about a month ago. I love the overall style. I love the color scheme and I love the comfort, I am primarily a minimalist shoe/sandal person, but I needed something with just a little more protection for hiking in areas that are a little rocky and sharper. I Was hesitant to try Chaco’s because all of the styles that I saw were super thick and very heavy. This new style so far is light, allows my toes displayed comfortably, and feels very natural on my feet. If I Could make one slight change, it would most likely be to get rid of the toll loop and make this more of a huarache style. Other than that, I am a fan.

Avoid the toe loops.

The toe loop chafes. I returned them in a matter of days.

Close but not quite

Overall I like the style and really wanted to wear these as less straps Chaco, but the cross foot strap running from the ankle to in between my toes would constantly get flipped so the edge was rubbing right in between my toes. If this didn’t happen I would love them

Vale la Pena

Overall, great sandal. I live in the tropics, so if I'm hiking and know I'm going to be doing a lot of water crossings, these are pretty clinch. I wouldn't say the straps are abrasive, but they do rub, so if I walk in them for more than a few miles, the skin between my toes gets sore, which also isn't ideal to potentially have an open sore on your foot in the tropics. I'm sure a lotion would take care of any rubbing.

Won’t stay tight around ankle, but nice looking

I like the style and look, but the teeth on the buckle don’t bite into the webbing so I’m constantly tightening them.

Light, comfortable and airy sandal

Light, comfortable and airy sandal. As well made as any Chaco I've owned just less weight and more air for your feet. I have gotten a lot of use out of this sandal and enjoy wearing it, especially if I don't need a heavy duty strapped sandal. Would order again, and highly recommend... especially if you're a Chaco fan.

Best yet!

I've had different models of Chacos off and on for the past 20 years, including starting my 2004 AT thru-hike in a pair of Z/1s. The Bodhi is by far my favorite Chaco design to date. The fit is secure yet airy, the adjustment is fast, and the sandal is all-day comfortable while still being lightweight. I'm shocked by how well these sandals work for such a simple strap system, and I'm psyched they are in the lineup! The styling is great, too.

Nice Minimalist Sandal

Great look, I'm always looking for minimalist sandals and these seem to be it for Chacos. I wasn't sure when I first saw them on the webpage. I was lucky enough to see a person wearing a pair recently, so I opened the website again. I loved the Earth & Gray webbing.
