Z/1 Classic Wide Sandal
If you've ever asked someone the details on how they met their spouse, you've most likely embarked upon a lengthy trip down Mushy Memory Lane. This same "an affair of the heart" logic applies to any adventure-loving trailblazer who has been asked to describe the first time they set their eyes on the Chaco Women's Z/1 Classic Sandal. Built to last a lifetime, these sandals are vegan-friendly and fashioned to carry you over rafts and rivers, through trails and sidewalks without falter or fail.
Constructed specifically for women with a wider footbase, the Z/1 Classic Wide offers paramount support and performance with its textured polyurethane footbed that's crafted specifically to prevent your foot from sliding around, especially on those humid summer days. The LuvSeat midsole cushions your every step while the ChacoGrip rubber sole features 3mm lugs that grip aggressively to prevent slipping, especially on wet surfaces.

didn't fit my foot
Can't really give a review because, sadly, I had to return them. They didn't fit my foot properly. I did give details as to how they didn't fit, when I returned them. I really wanted them to fit, but obviously, I can't change the shape of my foot.

Pretty and Functional
I like the appearance and functionality of these sandals. They seem very well designed. However for me, they weren’t very comfortable so I sent them back.

Still Like Shoes But Some Issues for Me
I have been wearing these shoes for about a decade now, they have been basically all I wear, and I still really like them. However, I have some issues that I would like Chaco to consider, and because I like the shoes and the idea behind them, I think there is still room for improvement. I have been disappointed with the newer sandals with the Chaco grip soles. I bought a new pair, and within about 2 months of average wear, with mid distance walking, around my town and the beach, the soles began to come apart from the footbed, rendering them useless. I have read this happening to others, it is not just me. Something has gone down with the quality of the soles or the glue that holds the onto the footbed. I had an old pair from the 2000's, and they held up along time, and had Vibram soles. I see there are new arrivals with vibram soles, but only in medium width. There still needs to be more options for us women with wide feet. If I want the better quality Vibram soles, I have to get a custom pair that cost twice as much, this is bogus. Please include wide widths for Vibram sole sandals. Speaking of wide width, make the actual foot part where the toes are wider without making the whole shoe just bigger or longer. To get a wide width, I have to get a size up, and the shoe is wider, but I have over an inch of the heel sticking out from the back, and an inch in the front of my foot, making it a trip hazard. I have also explored the repair options. However, for example to get my soles replaced and new straps, this costs just as much if not more than to just getting a new pair of the sale sandals, defeating the purpose of repairing. Also, if I wanted to get a pair of sandals repaired that I bought as a custom pair with custom colorful straps that are not offered in the regular shoes, the strap options are limited, and I would end up getting plain straps or not the ones I got with my custom sandals, almost defeating the purpose of getting custom colorful straps, and paying that extra money for them. It would also be nice if Chaco had a way to take people's old sandals that are beyond repair for recycling. What am I to do with my old ones that are beyond repair? just throw them out, essentially sending them to the landfill? I am trying to do the eco friendly thing.

Over 20 years of wearing Chacos
Over two decades of wearing Chacos I have severe arthritis in my feet and now I'm in my late 60s and still have to work. I groom animals and I'm on my feet all day and these are the only shoes that I can wear full time. My shoes allow me to do what I love doing best

Favorite Chacos
I already own and love another pair, and at 50% off, these were a no-brainer.

Worth the purchase
Wide fit helped tremendously with my foot pain! The straps take a bit of adjusting to fit well, but after being a diehard Teva lover for decades, only a few days in Chacos hugely relieved my plantar fasciitis pain. Good arch support, and the straps dry quickly when walking through water.

Great multi activity shoe for sand/water
Great Arch Support, comfortable to walk, easy to adjust, but the strap material rubs my pinky toe, so started with a blister. They might look like “mom sandals” my 24 yr old daughter said…

Ouch
They do the job, but I do not like how the straps are not fully adjustable and the straps also rub against my heel uncomfortably.
