Skydome 4-Person Screen Room Tent with Dark Room Technology offers shade, extra space, and quick setup
What Our Gearhead® Experts Are Saying:
"This tent is a game-changer for summer camping. The Dark Room Technology blocks out the early morning sun, so I actually get to sleep in, and it also keeps the inside cooler during the day. The screened porch is a huge plus—it’s great for keeping gear dry or just hanging out bug-free. Setup takes about five minutes, thanks to the pre-attached poles, and the WeatherTec system does a solid job of keeping rain out. Whether it's for car camping or backyard camping, this tent is a great mix of comfort and convenience."
Waking up to the sunrise is great—unless we're trying to sleep in after a long night by the campfire. That’s why we love the Skydome 4-Person Screen Room Camping Tent with Dark Room Technology. It blocks 90% of sunlight, so we can wake up when we're ready, not when the sun says so. Plus, it keeps the tent cooler during the day, making midday naps an actual possibility.
The extra space in the screened porch means we can store our gear outside the sleeping area without worrying about bugs or drizzle sneaking in. The nearly vertical walls give us extra headroom, and the wide door makes it easy to move airbeds and gear in and out. Built for three-season camping, the WeatherTec system and strong frame keep us dry and comfortable, even when the weather has other plans. Setup is a breeze, and the E-port lets us bring power inside for a little extra convenience. Whether we’re camping out in the wild or setting up in the backyard, this tent has all the right features to make our time outdoors even better.

Not too bad!
I'm a frequent solo camper and the setup was quite easy doing it on my own. But, it definitely took longer than 5 minutes if you're setting it up by yourself! More like 15 minutes, but still not too bad! The blackout feature of this tent is on point! Even during the daytime it is still very dark inside(I actually have to use my lantern inside the tent during the day!), which is the main reason why I purchased it- so I can sleep in longer without the disruption of the bright sun waking me up. I would say it would be comfortable for 2 people for this tent, but definitely not 4. Even for a solo camper like myself, it was the perfect size, I had my sleeping cot in there and all my gear and luggage/clothes, so all my stuff took up most of the space including the porch area. So I'd advise this 4 person tent for 2 people and under. I'm 5'1" and unfortunately, the height of this tent is shorter than me. So, I kinda have to crouch my head, but it's fine because the center height of the tent is 4'8" - so basically 5" taller than me, which is manageable. Not sure if taller folks would be too fond of it though. I used this tent for the first time in early February and it was pretty cold at night with temperatures around 30°F to 36°F. I managed to stay pretty warm, with of course the extra help of wearing layered clothing and thick blankets. But I'm sure the material of the tent also added the extra comfort of staying warm during the evening. The durability of the poles is a miss unfortunately, that's the only negative thing I would have to say about it. During the first setup and breakdown of the tent I noticed the internal cord of the pole was nearly torn through and on the verge of breaking. But, there is a warranty on the tent, so thankfully Coleman is sending me a new replacement pole free of charge! Haven't received the new poles yet so I'm hoping they are going to be the right fit/size for this tent.

Bent joint on pole
One of the joints on a pole was bent when I bought it and I reached out to them about it and have not heard back.

Great tent but don’t seek a warranty claim
The tent is a great size, has an integrated reinforced floor and a good size fly. We opened up the tent and found one of the poles was bent, at the end of July. The amount of information that is required for a warranty repair or replacement is frankly ridiculous. I provided an initial photo of the bent pole, my receipt and submitted a warranty request. In the first week of August, I called to get a status update and was informed that I needed to provide a photo of the bent pole, the bag and the label. Now, six weeks later, I have to send in photos of the full product, the label and the UPC. Bottom line - great tent but hope you never, ever have a warranty claim. The process is unreal and it feels like the Newel, the parent company for Coleman, just makes impossible to honour a warranty issue. I am not ever buying another Coleman product again after the warranty claim process.

So many flaws
SO very disappointed in Coleman for the first time. As a lifelong camper of 50 years, this tent was so lacking that I returned it after set up at home - grateful that I checked it out before taking it out! The front access fly & screen only open for half! Very awkward for in & out for me & my gear & I'm a pretty tiny girl @ 115#. My 200#+ partner never would've navigated this. The large rear window has no covering! Even with the rainfly attached, moisture came in, as did sun & heat. A rainstorm would leave one flooded. How in the world would Coleman give such a nice, large window (looked like it took up at least 75-80% of the rear tent surface) with no shade?!? No more Coleman for me.

Nice tent but not really for big or tall persons
First of all, I am 6ft 2inches and mid to upper 50's and have done hard manually labor for employment most my adult life. So, my joints and back have some miles on them. I found the entrance was too short 4ft 6in I believe. I had to get down on my hands and knees to get in and out of the tent. In the sleeping area the was enough room for my Coleman Tritech Air Mattress Queen 22” mattress. But there was less then 2ft or less room left over on one side and had to leave the inner door open to be able to get in and out of bed. The screen area is only big enough for storage not big enough to put a chair in and sit there. I will admit with most the windows covered up with the rainfly it was a little stuffy in there. So if your close to 6ft or more or don't like to get down on your hands and knees and crawl in or out of the tent would not recommend it. But for kids or shorter persons it would be a good tent for them. As far as putting it up even doing it myself was really easy and had no problems.

Great tent for the money.
Great tent for car/campground camping (or strong hikers). Roomy inside w/ vertical walls. Screen porch with zip rain doors provide a "tent and a half". Dark room feature allows sleeping in and early bedtime, if desired.

Not a 4 person tent
Not tall enough at all for 2 people I can’t imagine 4 people, you will Literally have to climb over each other just to get in

Worst Tent and Customer Experience
Poor ventilation, there were holes in the rain fly and seams upon first setup, not weatherproofed at all - woke up to puddles of water and water dripping down the sides making my gear damp and the measurements of the tent don’t add up. This was my son’s first introduction into camping and this tent made it a horrible one. I’ve been trying to return this tent to the company for over two weeks now, but no one is responding or following up with me. Unfortunately it seems the Coleman brand has gone down hill from what I remembered it was….

Pretty much perfect
Exactly what I wanted at a great price. Roomy, easy to set up, and dark and cool as the sun rose.

Good but not all weather.
Mostly love it. I like to sleep in and this definitely keeps dark. Haven’t had a chance to try it in the rain. Resistant against wind for sure. Keeps heat in if you have a heater. Fits my inflatable queen with about a foot to spare and put in a side table. The porch is the best addition I looked for when I was in the market. Love the porch. Currently on a camping trip in truck haven and the wind PLUS sand is not a good combo for this tent. This tent is not sand storm resistant. SO much sand in it. It would be convenient if there were additional zipper-able seals to keep out dust and in this case sand.
