Nice tent

Easy to put up. We camped on an extremely windy night. The top flap kept blowing around and keeping us awake. I would recommend having Velcro on portions of the top so they stay more secure. Other than that a great tent!

Cannot Recommend (Part 2)

Following additional experience with this tent, I can provide more comments. In short, the tent literally fell apart before the end of the season. Tent1: The strap was fine when I put the tent down; it was detached when I set the tent back up. Tent2: The zipper quit zipping and got worse with more use. Zipper failure is simply unacceptable. Tent3: Following rain, the tent floor leaked at the exact center. This is the spot the center hub sits when the tent is folded up. I suspect the process of folding up the tent compromised the flooring in this spot. The black spot is liquid rubber I applied to get through my trip. Also evident is a hole in the floor created by the folded poles. Literally, the simple act of folding up the tent destroys it. Tent4: This is rust on the pole from the aforementioned rain. I was barely able to extend or collapse the poles by the end of my trip due to rust on the poles and internal mechanism. Tent5 and Tent6: Additional rips that occurred when folding up the tent.

Cannot recommend

The tent leaked at the seam connecting the side window section to the lower tent section on one of the side panels. On close inspection, it is clear this was a defect in the tape/glue which escaped quality inspection during manufacturing. I would not call this an 'instant' tent. After a learning curve, it takes approximately 15 minutes to set up from start to finish (unpacking to last stake) . . . the same amount of time as with my flexible pole tent. It does take approximately 60 seconds to extend the poles, but this is only after the tent, poles, and center hub have been positioned just correctly. The tent is heavy and bulky. And as noted above, the poles and center hub need to be positioned just correctly or the tent is neither going to go up, nor fold-up when taking the tent down. On one occasion during take down and fold-up, the tent fabrics somehow tightened, causing a small rip in the tent floor. Strong gusts of wind will dislodge the poles that support the fly over the doors.

Bulky and broken

Tent broke on first use. Took me 14 min to set it up. 10 min to take it down. The upper portion didn’t collapse all the way and ripped through the bottom when folding it up.

Waste of money

Unfortunately I only got to use this tent twice. One of the poles ripped through the bottom of the tent when I was putting it up. It ripped very easily without much force. I am extremely disappointed and will never buy another Coleman tent. Waste of money.

Fast set up, maybe not good for cold weather

Very easy setup. Not as roomy as I thought it would be. I use a double high queen air mattress and it take up most of the space. I did January camping, the temperature was low (35) at night and I had a lot of moisture in the tent when I woke up. Not sure if it’s from the open ceiling (had the rain guard on).

Popped right up in no time

set up the tent in my garage to check out operation of poles etc. apears to be fully functional only problem I had was the how to install the small shock corded polls to hold the rainfly out from the doors you really missed that instruction on the flap for setting up. I finally found a short video showing how to install them now waiting to get rid of the snow to use it in Pennsylvainia . Also a video about getting folded and back in the bag would be helpfull

Sky lodge 6 person insta tent

This tent is a bit bigger than I expected. I have a Coleman 5 person insta-tent that is perfect. I want my tent to be able to have a cot inside without touching the walls. The smaller size would not be long enough. However. This tent can go up in 2 minutes by one person. It has mesh pockets that will hold things and it comes with a rain fly. Can’t wait to try it out.
