Why We Like The Newton Ridge Plus II Waterproof Wide Hiking Boot
The Columbia Men's Newton Ridge Plus II Waterproof Hiking Boot is a tough, mid-height hiker built to withstand muddy trails, wet weather, and technical terrain. The leather upper has a PU coating and sealed seams to prevent a single raindrop from seeping through, and mesh panels provide quick-drying comfort around the collar and tongue. Underfoot, a Techline midsole maintains energy return with soft cushioning while Omni-Grip rubber gives the sole extra traction on technical terrain.

My 4th pair, rugged and lightweight.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is my 4th pair of Newton Ridge Hiking Boots. They are extremely lightweight, yet rugged. I’ve worn them in rain, snow, mud, you name it. Always kept my feet dry. The first 3 pairs saw most of their action in and around Yellowstone National Park. This new pair is in service in the highlands of Panama. I hike extensively in and around Volcan Baru. This area receives up to 200” of rain per year and the geography is very steep and of course the trails are littered with volcanic rock. Tough conditions for any boot. I know this pair will hold up as well as the prior 3.

failed its purpose compared to product description
Failed its purpose, keep feet dry! Was walking on a busy sidewalk after a 2-3 inch snowfall & moisture leaked in, soaked inside sole & sock, no - it was not sweat. It started at the right shoe, bottom left side of heel then both shoes inside soles. Lots of tread left on bottom. Shoes didn't dry out for days. This is the product description, inside label B13970-231. Sales receipt from dept store says "Columbia Newton Ridge Plus II Waterproof Men's Hiking Boots". I should get a refund. Get with the program guys, apply legit product descriptions, maybe "waterproof for a very brief & light rain, very shallow puddles only". Why would anyone seal a rubber sole to leather & call it waterproof / soak proof. I do not recommend this shoe to my friends or for re-purchase.

Perfect hiking boots!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] These hiking boots by Columbia are an exceptional choice for outdoor enthusiasts. The combination of durability, comfort, and style makes them stand out in the market. The waterproof leather and seam-sealed construction keep your feet dry even during the wettest hikes, while the lightweight midsole provides excellent cushioning and support for long treks. The outsole delivers outstanding traction on various terrains, ensuring stability on rocky trails or muddy paths. Additionally, the boots fit true to size and offer great ankle support without feeling restrictive. Whether you're tackling challenging mountain trails or enjoying a casual walk in the woods, these boots perform flawlessly. Highly recommended for anyone seeking reliable, comfortable, and stylish hiking footwear!

Hard To Find Size
I have owned several pair in both the high top and low top versions. I need to wear a size 16 wide to accommodate orthotics and these fit the bill. I prefer the full smooth leather version over the suede. Once dialed in they are comfortable. My only complaints are that the sloes are rather soft and wear out too quickly, thus loosing their grip and inventory and styles in my size are not often not readily available.

Warm and stylish Shoe
Shoe Color and comfort is really good. I got wide size range which is very comfortable, keeping my legs warm. Not having great grip on the ice but overall satisfying purchase.

I purchased these for a hike. When I got them, I was not impressed with the comfort and worried that they would not be comfortable for the hike I was planning. So, I wore them for a few days, and they felt OK. On my hike they started to hurt in the heel after the first mile. It got worse as the trail steepened. After about 5 miles my heels were blistered and popped. I pushed on as to not hold up my group. It was great to start going downhill and take the pressure off my heel. After about a mile my toes were blistering. I used moleskin, but it was no help. I finished slow and now I don't even dare put them back on after it took over a week to heal. These were a bad choice that I regret.

Color: Kettle, Nori IS A GREY COLOR NOT LIKE PIC!
Fit & quality is good. But if you are expecting "Color: Kettle, Nori" to look like a light tan or khaki with a little green towards the back then DO NOT BUY!. THESE ARE GREY. I even matched up the item # of website with the item on the shoes. THE PICTURE LOOKS NOTHING LIKE THE GREY BOOT YOU WILL RECEIVE. Color: Kettle, Nori
