These pants won't last one season or wearing.
Very nice pants but are not durable. The stitching holding the back pockets could not withstand less than 10 wearings. The majority of the time worn was standing and fishing on a boat. I would not buy them again.

Buyer beware!
Great idea and I original loved the pants. Bought them beginning of summer and used them as shorts. Then when I went to zip the legs back on, the shorts had totally faded, and I had two tone pants! Buyer beware! Should have just bought shorts and pants separately.

Way Too Big For Standard Size
I bought 3 pairs a couple of years ago and loved the fit and function. I decided to buy an extra pair to wear for my job as a trainer. The pants I purchased a few days ago arrived today and I soon discovered, they are not the same pants. Same name, same material, same convertible option but the size is much wider in the legs, left lower pocket has changed. It now has a vertical zipper. I'm 5'10", 180 lbs. and I drown in these pants. I will be returning.

Terrible durability, bad flexibility, skin issues
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I used these pants for part of a thru-hike of the PCT, meaning I used them every single day for hours a day, so I have a good idea of what the pants can take. The convertibility function itself is good and I find the fit to be good enough. However, the durability is the worst of any hiking pant I've ever owned. Within only days, almost every pocket had a hole, meaning I would lose small items. Besides the pockets I have literally gotten six different holes in these pants. Some of the holes are due to stitching coming undone and some of them are the pants easily tearing. The problem is exacerbated by the fabric having completely zero stretch or give, which is not ideal for any less than walking conditions. The pants do not stand up to wear and tear. Also, the fabric itself, despite being light and easily tearable, chafes my skin and causes awful blistering. Similar pants from other brands do not cause any of these issues. I think the silver ridge utility shirts are the literal number one of any hiking shirt on the market, and have stood up incredibly well, but I would stay far away from the pants.

Baggy legs
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought a couple pair of these as the non-utility silver ridge were not available. On receiving I found the pants were an inch wider in the leg. Too baggy so I returned them. Would have been helpful if the description stated that.

New changes to an old friend
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought three pairs of these pants and wore them exclusively on a backpacking trip around the world. A couple years, 40 countries, and 7 continents later, all three pairs are showing minor wear and tear. The mesh pockets get holes fairly easily and after a couple years, the seams are starting to come apart. But considering the mileage, they have been phenomenal. I decided to get three more pairs to replace them, and I have immediate thoughts on the updated pants. Pros: First, the belt is wider and much improved on the previous model. Secondly, the pocket mesh seems thicker, so hopefully it won’t be so prone to holes. Con: The zippered pocket on the left leg used to be perfect for a passport. I carried it in that pocket religiously and the new pocket has been changed to a smaller side opening deal, which is less than ideal. Not sure yet: The pants seem to be made of a new material and I don’t know if that’s good or bad. Time will tell. Otherwise, I’ve never felt so comfortable in a pair of pants and if you’re a traveler, hot or cold, mountain or desert, these things are as reliable as they come.
