I originally bought this pack to use while on my mountain bike. Initially I wasn't crazy about how the pack sat on my back and shoulders, so I undid the waist belt and shortened the shoulder straps to run the pack up high. Felt amazing like that. When I hike I run the pack much lower and with the waist belt. Plenty of room for snacks, tools, and whatever else I decide I might need. The interface with my back couldn't be any better, it's comfortable and extremely well ventilated. I bought it because it was on sale but knowing what I know now I wouldn't have hesitated to pay full price, and IF this thing ever does, it's getting replaced with the same one.
