Why We Like The Lupo AX 120 Alpine Touring Ski Boot

Dalbello's Lupo AX 120 Ski Boot has our favorite combination of feeling light on the uphill and charging hard on the downhill; it's the combination that hard-charging freeriders look for when they're hunting powdery stashes and big lines in the backcountry. Unlike most backcountry boots with a two-piece shell, the Lupo's unique three-piece construction retains a long-lasting stiffness of 120 that doesn't break down over a single season; in fact, the flex is so reliable that you shouldn't have a problem riding it in the resort.

The three-piece construction—code-named Cabrio—uses a shell, cuff, and tongue to give the boot a smoother power transmission, a dynamic rebound, and excellent shock absorption. Since Dalbello already uses Cabrio for all its dedicated alpine boots, it only makes sense that it would apply the same design to an AT boot by utilizing a removable tongue instead of a flimsy overlap shell that will eventually hit a wall when the boot is flexed forward. The shell also features Dalbello's wide Hyperband power strap for more comfort and control while skiing.

Comfortable and Light with Performance

Skied 2 seasons in the Colorado Rockies with these boots, 50 days plus. This boot is comfortable, light, responsive, breathable, warm, and performs well in all conditions. Does well in warm weather and down to frigid cold. Been touring in this boot a couple of times and it works fantastically. I use primarily as a resort boot for all mountain skiing, carving, powder, moguls, trees, you name it. I have nothing bad to say about the boot. Feels powerful for carving, locks in the heel and ankle for steeps and moguls. Walk mode is very comfortable for chillin' in the lodge or hiking to a trail head. No issues with durability and easy in and out thanks to the detachable tongue.

Awesome Boot - Easy to Custom Fit

Familiarity:
I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Dalbello boots have a better designed footbox and are easier to get into and then create a custom adjusted fit than any other boot I've tried. The full open tongue is the key to this boot!

Great fit terrible quality

Loved this boot while it lasted for touring and big mountain skiing. Unfortunately the walk mode is extremely weak and can blow out on something as small as a 12' cliff. This would be understandable if your a heavy guy but I'm 130Ibs.. Really hoping the rep will help me out on this as it's happened before but other reviews I've read say they make it difficult.
