Why We Like The Danner Trail 2650 Hiking Shoe
The Danner Trail 2650 Hiking Shoe was inspired by the demanding and rugged terrain found on the 2650-mile Pacific Crest Trail, but you don't have to quit your job and live in a tent for a few months to enjoy the durability and comfort of this versatile hiking shoe. Enjoy the trails closer to home with a Vibram 460 outsole, which incorporates self-adapting lugs and Vibram's special Megagrip compound for dependable grip on everything from muddy footbridges to rocky summits. An EVA midsole and Ortholite footbed give underfoot cushioning for long dawn-to-dusk days, and a TPU midfoot shank also offers added support and underfoot protection on rugged trails. It has a special reinforced heel counter to help keep your foot in its proper place, while the leather and textile upper gives the perfect balance of durability, breathability, and style.

The Danner Trail 2650
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
- Size Bought:
- California
I now have 4 different versions of Trail 2650, why would you buy 4 pair? I have prescription (aversive high Arch) orthotics and this about the only shoe that I can also retain the existing inner sole without feeling too tight on my upper foot. I do a lot of hiking and they have great support and good traction. When I find shoes that work well I buy 2 or more pairs pin different colors, they last longer and you never know when they change or dis-continue the model.

I have a few pairs of these and wear them most days. I am on my feet a good portion of the day as a home inspector and these shoes perform well. Good durability, breathable and agile. These shoes run true to size or a bit small.

Perfect Comfort Out of the Box
- Familiarity:
- I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
- Size Bought:
- 12
- Height:

- Weight:

I wore this straight out of the box and hiked 50 miles in 3 days in the Grand Canyon. Amazingly comfortable and had zero issues with comfort and fit. I'm 200 lbs. and 5'11--purchased size 12. Giving 4 stars because, I can see that the toe rubber is already beginning to peel away off the shoe. I hope mine were an abnormally defective. I recommend them and would buy another pair, but would be weary of the rubber pealing off the front toe. I do wish they had BOA laces.

got these for a day hiking trip to the porcupine mountains in the UP of Michigan, didn't have time to break them in like I normally would with new shoes but these things were amazing. 20+ miles in 2 days zero problems, comfort straight out of the box.
