I like Darn Tough and have several different socks from them, including hiking and those ones. Those are pretty comfortable for normal Seattle summers (not heatwaves) and I think I can get away with using them both as dress socks and for casual wear. This model is for everyday wear, I'd use other models for hiking purposes.

This sock is very tall on the calf and reminds me more of a dress sock than a crew height tube sock. This really wasn't what I was looking for. I'm exchanging for the Standard Crew, that appears to be more like their hiker crews which I expect to like more. Other than my preference on style, this seems like a great sock. If you wear dress socks almost daily, this might be right for you. May run a little larger to size (size 10 street shoe, L felt a little big even though that's what I normally wear in DTs)
