Why We Like The Fox 40+4L Backpack
It's time for the littles to trek like the rest with Deuter's Fox 40+4L Backpack. Borrowing technology from their best adult bags, the Fox features an easily adjustable harness system, multiple gear connection points, and a soft and breathable suspension system that'll keep them moving right alongside us. And if the trek requires stuffing in some extra food items for a potential extra night, we can extend its volume another 4-liters by expanding it from the lid.

Great kid / tween backpacking backpack!
- Size Bought:
- 40
My 12 year old daughter wore this for our summer backpacking trip. She typically hates wearing backpacks but this one was comfortable and held all the things she needed (sleeping bag, pad, clothes, headlamp, water, snacks, and some odds and ends). She was comfortable and happy - highly recommend.

Bought this for my 14 yr old son for a 2-day trip. Super easy to pack with lower zip compartment and easily adjustable to his size. Very comfortable for 19miles!

Awesome for small women too!
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
Watched a video of it and found that it would fit me (5’6, 110 lbs) and took it for a week with me through Europe! It was sturdy and fit a lot. One downside is that it only had a a couple of pockets. But it does have two water bottle holders so it makes up for it!

Superb Backpack for Kids
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
Every year I take my kids and many of their friends backpacking (~100 kids in the last decade). The Fox 30 and 40 are my go-to backpacks for gradeschoolers, and the Fox 40 often works for high schoolers who are on the smaller side. From the perspectives of both comfort and value, this pack can't be beat to introduce kids to backpacking. If they are carrying more than this on their first couple trips, they are probably carrying too much for it to be enjoyable.

Great product for the price. He got it for camping trips and family trips and it seems to be a good size for him and holds the items he needs.
