Why We Like The Dynafit Radical Alpine Touring Boot
Gnarly, far-out, and righteous are all words that come to mind when we tour in Dynafit's Radical Ski Touring Boot. Most backcountry skiers unbuckle their boots while walking uphill, but Dynafit's Hoji Single Lock System unbuckles the boot while initiating the walk mode, simultaneously opening the boot up to maximize freedom of movement for the uphill, and snapping the boot back into ski mode with a flip of the buckle. We like touring around the backcountry in this boot whether we're plowing powder in low-angle trees or descending a steep summit.

BEST AT ski boots, so comfortable, finally!
If you are looking for a comfortable alpine touring boot and have medium to wider foot and been frustrated at painful boots, then you should check these out. I spent 3 years trying and failing to ski comfortably. I have a wider foot, using altra running shoes etc. I used to have to limit my climbing to 45min due to pain and discomfort. I finally tried these boots and wow, so comfortable. I can ski for hours now without fear of wanting to walk in the snow in my socks because my old boots were so bad. They ski up and downhill great as expected, but honestly I wouldn't care just because I am finally comfortable. Been using them for two seasons now and holding up very well.

great for wider feet
Comfortable right out the box, and performs well both up and down hill. I mostly use this for in bounds use but also skin at the resorts.

Favourite Ski Touring Boots
I use these boots on big ski touring objectives in the Canadian Rockies. They are comfortable and transitions are super quick. It took some time to figure out the right fit but once I did they were excellent.

I got these boots to replace my current backcountry boots (Dynafit TLT8 Carbonio). I was looking for a slightly stiffer touring boot for better downhill skiing and was willing to sacrifice weight in exchange. I have always had a difficult time finding boots that fit me because I have very wide feet and a fairly large calf volume. This has been especially problematic when looking for touring boots since the majority are for low or medium volume feet. These Dynafit Radical boots fit me great. I had the liners heat molded and put in a foot beds and they're just about perfect. They're super comfortable for the uphill and ski great downhill, much better than my previous boots. The Hoji lock system is great and makes it really easy to transition. The Radical's Hoji lock system is not integrated with the top strap, but it is with the Radical Pro. This just means that you have to tighten the top strap separately, which is not a big deal at all...I'm not looking to set records in how quickly I transition. The Radical Pro's are also fairly lighter than the Radical, but this also doesn't really bother me. Bottom line is these are great touring boots with good downhill performance and perfect for those with wide feet or high volume feet.
