Why We Like The Dynafit Tigard 130 Boot
With the Dynafit Tigard 130 Boot, Dynafit dove headlong into the freetour market. Designed for people who want to ski the backcountry hard, and thus prioritize descent over ascent, this boot boasts impressive control. On the downhill, these boots hold their own with a stiff and powerul 130 flex, familiar 4-buckle overlap design, and a power strap that helps you press forward with your shins. To help us to the top of our desired zone, the Hoji Lock walk mode provides 70° range of motion for effortless skinning.

Sweet "do-everything" Option
I got these boots specifically because of the Hoji Lock system being introduced to a full on hybrid boot with gripwalk. The flex is pretty dang solid, so I am comfortable using these as a 50/50 boot in and out of the resort. The thing I was blown away by was the functionality of the walk mode. It's so nice that the power strap and both upper buckles are connected to the walk mode lever. The interface of the liner tongue and the overlapping shell is really nice, too. They're relatively easy to get into and quite comfortable liner-wise. My last is around a 103-104mm and I did need to punch them right at the "6th toe." My boot fitter mentioned the plastic being exceptionally easy to work with and I am quite pleased with the fit post molding. I did not mold the liner, as it seems fairly easy to break in over the course of a couple of ski tours. I'm very pleased with the uphill performance of this boot in particular. They also skied quite nicely.

Two days later :)
Love the boot so far. Range for walking seems huge. Boot fit perfect right out of the box. Probably gonna termo fit the liners. Was little worried the heal area was a bit wide and roomy but after the first day it seems to be just right on now. The grip walk is spot on!! Feels very solid. :)

Life is mountains not beach
I've skied with various Dynafit models throughout the years, first ones dating all the way back to the 80s, 3F Comps. Since Vulcan I've been looking for a Dynafit boot that would tick all the boxes, i.e. being light enough going up but robust and responsive coming down. Hoji free 130 and Radical Pro are great boots but wasn't happy with the liners and for longer trips or steeper decent had to swap them for more comfier ones (due to couple of ankle surgeries:)). With Tigard 130 Dynafit hit the sweetspot and I now have a "do it all boot"
